Just kind of a pain with Denon but I don’t want to give up Audyssey for the playback. |

I received it in my original order. I’ll have to contact Rhino to find out if customers that received it will get a replacement.

Whichever mode I use it still remaps dts to more than the 4.0 native channels.

Might be this one https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threa...176927/page-37
but I haven’t seen anything that implies the B$B is defective. Last comment I saw user said there is no error. Though one user did say the stereo mix dts 24b@192k was also reporting 4.0. I need to open mine to check it out. Others said vocals were mixed in all 4.0 channels but it could be the way the quad mix was initially designed. Again these releases aren’t supposed to be new but rather high resolution version of the original quad audio releases. Edit: the post in question does say that their B$B order was canceled from their bundle due to technical issues but it never implies the disc is or isn’t the technical issue. The disc was available to purchase again after this email was received. I’m guessing the technical issue is more about Rhino being overwhelmed with orders and can’t fill them. Their CS has been horrendously bad. I was waiting on my audiophile Cars and John Coltrane vinyls for over 5 weeks after they were released. I eventually got them but I heard others say they got their orders with the limited to 5000 Cars album missing even though they were charged. I did get the 4 Quadio releases fairly quickly since I preordered them immediately but others haven’t been so lucky and CS isn’t responding. I’m not so sure Rhino is equipped to do direct to consumer sales and btw that’s their only mode of operation now in the US at least. Last edited by Tok; 07-13-2023 at 06:09 PM. |

This is my first order from them since… Looks like they never did manage to get things together, given these various snapshots of how things have been going over there. ![]() Maybe I'll get a response from them eventually… |

btw The Cars audiophile vinyl has to be the cleanest vinyl I own. It’s an extremely quiet pressing. Even the track play-ins/play-outs are silent. |

Most AVRs will allow you to choose whether it upmixes or not without having to bypass DSP (ie DIRECT), been that way with all 10+ AVRs I've owned since my first AVR back in 2004 (VSX-1014TX). |

dts though did start to duplicate their surround channels into surround back channels with their decoders when 7.1 was starting to become more prevalent. I haven’t found an easy way around this other than to turn off my surround back channels while sending bitstream and that causes other problems within the setup when I re-enable the surround back channels. Even while sending PCM with the 7.1 mapping disabled the Panasonic still duplicates the surround backs with dts titles. |

There's no technical error. It's just authored differently than the other three. The track lengths on the Alice Cooper are different in the quad mix than the stereo one, so they couldn't make them two separate files and synchronize them so you could switch on the fly back and forth from one mix to the other. Instead they put them all in one quad file and made track 1 to 10 quad and 11-20 stereo. It may display as 4.0 but the rear channels are silent in 11-20. No problem with your AVR, just set it to "Direct" when playing back 11 to 20 and it will be in stereo. They won't be issuing a correction and they've started shipping Billion Dollar Babies again, so if your order was cancelled just make a new order and you'll get it right away.
