Yeah, me too. I had the same problem with The Batman steelbook. I was eventually able to order it. Keep checking the site daily and it should be available again hopefully soon.

Honestly Best Buy sucks for distributing Steelbook movies. You’d think the studios would wise up and use a dependable retailer (Amazon?)

Amazon is probably even worse. Take a look at all of the Avatar releases for next week. You can pre-order them, but they don't give you an estimated delivery date. I can almost guarantee that they will arrive after the release date. |

It's been an issue discussed here for years with best buy: spine slashes, crushed steels, and then the most recent debacle with JW4 telling everyone who preordered their steels were being released early, then not shipping them, then...some shipping, and others still waiting for any news at all. |

It sucks it went up on best buy and then like 3 days later it was gone. I should've preordered when I had the chance. Now I check everyday hoping it'll become available. In the mean time I preordered the steelbook from amazon uk. Hopefully, it'll become available on best buy soon enough

its funny that people believe Best Buy cares about steelbooks and steelbook collectors. these are considered niche, impulse buy items. They make their money off of big ticket items - appliances, tvs, computers, phones, etc. As long as people keep buying steelbooks they will continue to offer them. Things will only change if people stop buying from them. All these years of reports of spine slashes, crushed steels, etc. and nothing has changed, they don't care because they sell and returns, exchanges are all negligible to them.

Tracing collectibles and video game screenshots is a huge problem when it comes to graphic design.
People think it’s different than tracing someone’s 2D art, but it isn’t. Lots of stuff comes to mind: the NECA figure on Shout’s Bubba Ho-Tep Blu. The Hot Toys RoboCop on the Arrow release where they had to update the art to remove the figure stand from his crotch between the announcement and the release date. The Jurassic Park 30th steel that is based on a statue of the T-Rex and possibly even one of the statue company’s official product shots traced outright. Most collectible companies credit their sculptors and video games obviously have credits. If you aren’t willing to credit that person then don’t copy their shit. But people don’t seem to see it that way, unfortunately. But you should all pay attention to newly-commissioned art for video releases and posters, even from companies like Mondo. If part of the art can’t be traced (no pun intended) to a screenshot or a still, which is a different situation entirely because it’s understood that they’ll be manipulated for key art, odds are you’re looking at art based on a toy. |
