The point, I believe you're missing is that there were 3 design sets, and the the UK one stopped at 6 (7 only from Germany) while the rest continued as you can see from pic...

So yeah, in my response to that. How could obtain them or get them overseas if the design was never finished.
Damn them lol

Not missed. I was referring to it being possible to get a uniform set (just not the uk one), which was my point before.

Now you just have to switch and pay extra for it.

Like it's possible to mix and match for a resident evil set that matches, if you're willing to pay a premium for it.

In a similar vein, anyone who wants a complete set of matching movie poster steels from the six Star Wars films needs to get a custom done. At least until someone at disney stops being pants on head moronic and does the Gone With the Wind style poster for Empire.

Yeah, exactly. It shouldn’t be a shock. There’s three different versions for Fallout at Best Buy and only one of them is sold out. I’m sure Best Buy will get an exclusive that matches the others, just in time for Dead Reckoning Part 2.

Six matching steelbook art and the 4K slip for Dead Reckoning for me. I don't like either steelbook and the poster art on the 4K slip is the best option at this time. Wil replace with a steelbook later if they make one worthy of purchasing.

What a horrible looking cover....

I don't like this trend of steelbook covers. To me, it feels like these studios are all taking a page from each other and when it comes to the first release of a title on steelbook. Put out a lame cover because they are expecting people to buy it regardless, so when it comes time for a re-release in a year they can do another one (and most likely better) so people buy it again.

Here are some examples:

And anything will be better than these:

Looks better than the awful ones that just came out for the rest of the series.

This is exactly why I didn't buy those. I would have bought all of them if there was a guarantee that future SteelBooks would match. Ugh.

This would be a good time for retailers to roll out a "matching guarantee" on future steelbooks from the same franchise.

Thoughts on the back of the steel... black IMF seal, bike stunt, or maybe the key?

That key would make one neat collectible, especially if they did it right and it did the whole two pieces thing. It doesn't even have to light up.

All aboard for the Dead Reckoning part 2 or maybe even the complete missions set exclusive goodies hype train!

Yeah, it would be neat if they had included one half of the key with the Dead Reckoning Part 1 steelbook and the other half of the key with the steelbook for Part 2 when that comes out.

Sad part is, it goes against the studio's interest to create a matching line and continue it with new releases. Why would they want to give you a definitive version if they can give you variations every few years instead. I hate it, but this is the only explanation for a new release not matching something just released.

I guess somebody had to say it.

I've always figured this to be the obvious case.

And each new wave keeps selling every time they do this for a franchise.

Not really. It would make far more sense to have several different sets, that way people actually buy them.

For collectors, and this has been a thing for years...actually want a complete set. No one wants a 1/7, 6/7 or something silly like that.

Bite those collectors' hands too often, and they'll stop buying, or just wait until you put out a full set for them, and skip your individual releases entirely.

Nope. I rather like the new steel design for the first 6, but this -- in addition to not matching those -- is just fugly as all hell.

I'll wait for the inevitable full-series 8-movie steelbook collection down the road.

I came to this thread to see if I could find encouragement for holding off on buying 4K steelbooks for the series until at least M:I-8, and whaddaya' know, low & behold, I found it!

So the US 4K UHD SteelBook is definitely NOT going to be a combo pack that includes a blu-ray (like Top Gun: Maverick did)?

That definitely makes me more willing to wait and see what might get released when Part 2 comes out. Once the SteelBook FOMO fever passes, I find myself not as invested in this series as I thought I was.
