That was the most surprising endings that I have ever seen. Even when you saw the flashes in the car window, I didn't believe it.

Although I strongly prefer the novella ending to the film ending, this is still a pretty solid King adaptation by Darabont. Will be getting this when it's on sale.

DGA requires director sign off on home video releases if the director is alive.

It’s why films like The Abyss and True Lies have yet to see Blu-ray releases. It’s why some labels hated working with Friedkin. Why other labels hate working with Mann.

In some cases, the director doesn’t give two shits and will give the sign off. Others will want to have involvement. Others will want to have too much involvement to where it delays the release.

But when they’re dead? Full steam ahead, baby.

Well if it was a steelbook exclusive then it wouldn't be on Amazon now, would it?

Great news about the two versions but, man, that cover art’s more horrifying than the film’s ending!

One of my top 5 films of all time, and still probably the best, and most powerful, ending to a movie I have ever seen (the ending of Arlington Road is also really good).

And now that it's confirmed it will have the b&w version, only thing left to confirm is how good the transfer is. Hopefully they dig up some new special features as well as that would be a nice bonus.

I am so hyped for this release. I bought the BD recently when Lionsgate reprinted it so I'm a tad miffed about that but getting this film in 4K is just wonderful news.

Wouldn't be shocked if sales for the re-released BD are what led to this even happening.

Cover is quite shit (I wanted the Struzan one from the Blu), but I'll gladly upgrade this one.

Horribly depressive ending.

I thought you meant it's not exclusive to a steelbook, like has been happening lately. Lionsgate and Paramount have been releasing things in 4K but only in steelbook and not normal cases.

I suppose this means Scream 4 in 4K UHD isn't out of the question.
