I bought the first Imprint Neo-Noir set, but never got the second one.

The first set was a banger I still don't regret: After Dark, My Sweet; One False Move; Mortal Thoughts; Twilight (Paul Newman one); Flesh and Bone; and Rush (Jennifer Jason-Leigh).

The second one didn't grab me the same way.

Anyway, I'll still pick this title up again, though.

Anybody else increasingly hoping this is the case for catalog titles? I used to be live and let live about remixes as long as the original audio is also included, or at the very least original sound effects aren't replaced. Lately it seems like labels' QC is so terrible that every other release has some stupid downmix masquerading as the original audio track. If they can't be counted on to do right by the original, then no more remixes, period. To hell with 'em.

It's never made sense to me why you'd list the day before the month.

I guess it makes sense to say "13th of March" but the way they write it, 13 March, sounds too robotic. Bottom line, there's really no "correct" way to say a date, it's just a regional preference. I'll never get used to "13 March" so I'll keep saying it the way it was taught to me in school: March 13th

Amazon pre-order is up! Looks like it's coming November 14th now too, rather than December 26th as BM lists it. ImportCDs also has the November date. Cover art should be coming soon.

Making its Blu-ray™ debut, this classic ’90s thriller directed by Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty) stars Jamie Lee Curtis as newly minted NYPD officer Megan Turner, who responds to a grocery store robbery – and kills the perpetrator – her first day on the job. But Megan’s uncorroborated story of the shooting gets her suspended from active duty when the stickup gun mysteriously vanishes. Enter a charming-but-disturbed commodities trader (Ron Silver), whose obsession with Megan threatens to destroy everything she holds dear, pushing her into a desperate fight to salvage her reputation…and save her own life.

Saw this in theaters, and then again on laserdisc... a film premise with a lot of potential but the execution is somewhat underwhelming to me.

Awesome! And they didn't redesign it like they've been doing for a lot of their other releases lately.

This better be worth of buying when it comes to PQ which I have some serious doubts. I hope I'm wrong, I really do.

I'm just hoping the PQ is better than my German import (it probably won't be). Not that there's anything wrong with it, but everyone and their mothers are commissioning fresh 2K or 4K scans, while LG is saddling us with recycled transfers.

Based on previous Vestron releases, I don't think it's wise to anticipate a new remaster. Possibly they may have gotten access to a different master than what StudioCanal has put out / licensed before, but realistically, I'm just hoping for decent extras, particularly something with Bigelow or even Curtis.

I think the most likely scenario is that it will just be some kind of port of the 2022 Imprint BD, which apparently had about 20 minutes of interviews with editor Lee Percy and production designer Toby Corbett, in addition to a couple film historian interviews. Other than trailers, I think that's about the only extras this film has ever had.

I’d love to get Bigelow or Eric Red’s student films on this release

Yep, a great movie. Has never gotten the appreciation it deserves. Hopefully this release will help remedy that.
