Thought this would come from Shout (since Universal canceled their DVDs and Shout finished), but not complaining. I only watched a few episodes of this, but this is pretty much the quintessential 50s coming-of-age show, and I might get around to picking it up.

I can’t believe Paramount hasn’t released a complete Blu-ray set for I Love Lucy. I thought that would be coming after they released Andy Griffith.

Anyway, The Beav gets a Blu release. Nice to see they're digging way back in the vaults. I was a little surprised Shout didn't do this, but honestly, it'll be just as good coming directly from Uni, and cheaper.
What? The DVDs are less edited than the blu-rays?

Damn I was going to buy the blu-ray set as a Christmas present for my dad.

I'd like Beverly Hillbillies more than this.

You might want to post that in the Wishlists section instead of pointlessly cluttering up the Leave It to Beaver thread

I have no choice but to wait for the reviews. If this is uncut and unedited, I'm in.

I almost picked up DVDs of Lucy the other day, but they were FUBAR so I had to leave them. I'd love a definitive Blu-ray release of Lucy, and I too am shocked that it hasn't happened. It's arguably the greatest show ever, and there's only several DVD runs and an incomplete Blu-ray run.

I just got into this show recently and I wanted to get the DVD set but I figured I would wait until a blu ray set came out. But I didn’t have to wait as long for it than I thought I had to.

So talking about I Love Lucy in this thread is okay, but not The Beverly Hillbillies. Got it

I watch these types of shows when I don't have a lot of time to watch a movie. If I'm working at home, I like to put a disc in and watch a few episodes during lunch. A lot of these old shows fit the spot: Beaver, Gilligan, Happy Days, Brady Bunch, Sanford and Son or whatever. Just need more on blu.

No, you don’t have it. It’s that he’s not interested in the subject of this thread, and negatively says he’d rather have something else than it. I hope that clarifies things for you.

This will be a day one purchase for me - and I'd LOVE to see The Beverly Hillbillies get a blu-ray release!

I doubt a difference. Just like the DVD set, expect non-syndicated full episodes.

I kind of wish the artwork was B/W, but not a deal breaker or anything, I'm in for this day 1.

The low MSRP on this is actually pretty surprising, considering all that you get in the box set, and the fact that it's not just all of the discs in a single-spindle case or something. I figured it would easily be $199+

Same MSRP as The Andy Griffth Show (TAGS). Hopefully, like TAGS it will be done in the 70+ range soon after release.

I totally forgot that they put Parenthood out on Bluray. Thanks for the reminder.
I've never seen a single episode of Leave It To Beaver, but I'm sure I'll end up grabbing this set at some point.
