I watched this last night and thought the film was simply ok. The technical merits were all good, but expected some more fights and the story was all over the place. I still enjoyed it, as it's pretty hard to not enjoy a Chuck Norris film from the 80's, but just expected a bit more. The final fight with the large Japanese killer was pretty cool in the end though.

Thanks, appreciate your comment. Please tell us what you think of the new "Telefon" HD master as soon as you get the blu-ray. I´m quite sure you ordered it because we both have a similar taste (Delon, Belmondo etc....) ![]() |

I assume your favorite Chuck Norris movies are his more over-the-top Cannon output? If so, I could see being somewhat letdown by "Forced Vengeance". |

I do like a lot of those, but still doesn't change the fact that the writing on this wasn't great. I think my favorite 80's Norris film is Invasion U.S.A. as that one takes things to a different level. Still, the more the Norris the better.

Mind you, it goes downhill after the first Delta force (although I like MIA 3 and The hero and the terror, even if they aren't as good as the previous 6 movies) and then after Delta force 2 it really hits rock bottom with stuff like The hitman (much worst than any of his pre-Lone wolf stuff), although I do have a soft spot for Sidekicks. If you have a chance, his biography is really interesting. He's essentially one of his characters when you see everything he has accomplished haha. It's super captivating. The older he gets the more religious he becomes and the less interesting it gets but the first 3/4 are great! |

His accomplishments are exaggerating. I´m speaking of course about his days as a point fighter. He was never a 6 times or 7 times World Karate Champion.
As a matter of fact at the time in the 60's only people from the east and west coast of the US were fighting against each other. That was called a World Championship. There were no people fighting from Europe or Asia. However, Norris was an amazing point fighter but point fighting is no full contact. I like Norris but I also think his career went down after "The Delta Force". Of course, he was never a Box Office star. His biggest movie made 22 million and that was "Missing in Action". He had the opportunity after his critical acclaimed "Code of Silence" but after that he did movies with a B-company (Cannon). |

Chuck Norris was never a big movie star. His biggest movie "Missing in Action" grossed 22 million dollars. But Norris is the biggest martial arts icon after Bruce Lee. The Chuck Norris facts are ridiculous. I can't laugh about that crap I wouldn´t say that Norris became a bigger star because of his "facts". |

When his acting got better scripts for movies got worse. In earlier movies he was rarely that believable as tough hombre, been years since saw them but recall Breaker and Eye for an eye were particularly weak. Forced Vengeance was one of his better acting jobs pre-Missing in action.
Might be I remember wrong but have feeling did read somewhere long time ago eventually he did not want to be labelled as martial arts movie star and that is why not so much karate action in his later movies. May be recall it wrong though.. |
