Capcom has been on a roll since RE7, RE8 for horror survival, but I hope they remember that fans want a 3rd person view camera too, not just first person. They keep adding 3rd person views in DLC, but I hope it's in the game from the start.

RIP Alyssa Ashcroft.
![]() The game looks amazing. While playing as Grace, I suspect her portions of the game will involve more investigating and hiding. She doesn't look like a Rebecca Chambers type of heroine, so I think she will be used in place of Leon for puzzle solving and finding items. |

Saw the trailer and on one hand it looked good graphically but did anybody else feel the character models looked solid but then some of the office interior didn't seem as high fidelity in places at the office part of the trailer and then the animation just felt a bit "off".
Also, i know some are excited to go back to Raccoon City after its been so long since RE3 had it as the last setting in a mainline entry but i don't know why but this didn't feel like "traditional" RE to me as in it seems more like a serial killer vibe and mixed with an almost super natural element rather than the traditional zombie filled game i equate to that RCPD set entry. I know that RE4 and onwards they started to move away from sluggish zombies but i just am curious to see how this plays out especially with an Ashcroft front and centre. |

At this point I'm looking forward to remakes of the older games more than I am the new entries in the series, but I hope this turns out.

I agree that they're probably just going back to Raccoon City for the hell of it. This is a problem that is commonplace with a long running series, because producers just love to bank off of our nostalgia.
Even The Evil Dead franchise did it with the book and the cabin being involved again. That's totally iconic, you see, so it gets the fans feeling curious. |

The only thing I get peed off about, is how Capcom bounces around storylines in an odd way.
For example, Lucas Baker was talking to somebody at the Connections in RE7. Then RE8 fully ignored that to go with what that game was about. Then they did DLC about Rosemary, but omitted the reason for the BSAA using bioweapons to help Chris. And Alex Wesker has yet to return. Now whatever this game is. Do you know what I mean? They just constantly forget to clear up things. Then they do another game that practically ends up doing the same objective, which is irritating. |

The character animations were stiff in parts and some of the textures were off, NARMAK. But the overall combination of disparate elements looked good in tandem. However, this is just an early cinematic teaser. There is time to improve.

Personally i do think unlike the earlier entries, Capcom has been a bit too loose with their timelines and connections for the IP creating almost holes at times between entries as posted above. Hopefully they find something to weave them back together a bit more. |

I stopped trying to make sense of the story/timeline many many entries ago. first 3 games feel like a complete different universe from 4-6/Revelations.
7 started as 'relatively grounded' like the early games but that soon went out of the window when Ethan glued his hand, 8 was pure fantasy start to finish |

You're not wrong about the plot. I think the old RE games were consistently okay in terms of everything linking. It was after RE4 became this overrated dog pile that the plot went and ended up not really making sense thereafter. Then RE5 to me was the nail in the coffin with Wesker biting the bullet. Or in his case, two rockets.
I get what you mean with 7. It was good at first, then RE8 soured it. I feel like 8 was just some attempt at doing a rip off Silent Hill type world, which was too obscure for RE. Because it felt more supernatural in parts. Didn't care for it. But I did like Revelations 2. I give that one lots of favorable opinions, and I really think the game had nice throwbacks with Barry's lines. So if only they could revisit the storyline with Alex Wesker controlling the girl, that would be a day one buy for me. Absolutely. |

Never played the Outbreak titles, figured this is now the time to do it. Well... I ordered Outbreak 1 for PS2, Outbreak Files #2 is quite a bit more expensive. I'll just have to watch some playthroughs for that one.
