Based on the news description, it’s the 2012 2K disc. That said, Umbrella announced they are releasing the new restoration in Australia, so if they put out a 2K disc with the new restoration, then I will likely regret buying this steelbook. https://x.com/umbrellaent/status/174...wblC2B4JEzchRQ

Lol, on Best Buy's FINAL steelbook, they finally package it between two pieces of cardboard instead of just loose in a mailer lol

Steelbook looks decent enough, not sure why the reviewer couldnt just try the disc out and confirm if the blu-ray disc also has the new colour grading rather than posing the question in the video?

He assumed he could not tell, like he expected the difference to be small.

The Blu-ray that was released back in 2011 was (or is) really ugly. How does the 4K look?! Sony usually releases fantastic 4K discs.... "Fantastic upgrade" sounds promising.

I’m thrilled with it. I love the new new color. Not sure the 4K provided much boost in detail - looks the same to me. But the movie isn’t a smeary tealed out mess anymore. Natural gritty colors now

Thank you for commenting on the video quality. Yes, the colors on the old Blu-ray Disc from 2011 or '12 were very ugly -- and the image was smeary. The movie was probably captured at 2K...so I'm not expecting any miracles.... I hope that the blood is red and not purple!

Can someone with the discs confirm if the blu-ray has the new colour grading (same as the 4k disc) please?
I'm hoping it does. |

So they gave us 'bossing but a recycled blu-ray? Sorry, but I'll happily take that deal every time. About time studios actually put some effort into these steelbooks and not just leave it to the premiums. I'm sorry for those of you yet to upgrade to 4K, maybe they'll put the remaster up on digital. Honestly though, 4K Blu-ray launched in 2016. WB and Paramount don't even include a Blu-ray copy with their new releases anymore. As someone fully 4K capable, I will never use the old Blu (or a remastered Blu) and don't care. It's a 4K release, I'm buying it again because I want the 4K. Maybe don't spend on 4K releases that may or may not come with remastered Blu-rays and save up for some 4K equipment? If the PS5 launched in 2016 and we were still getting cross compatible PS4/PS5 games, I'd be miffed. It's been eight years. No shame or hate on anyone's financial situation or preferences, just one man's opinion...
