Troy Director's Cut on HD DVD 198 minutes with a TrueHD audio track.
Hot Fuzz on HD DVD 121 minutes with a TrueHD audio track AND eighteen hours of supplements on one disc! http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/880/hotfuzz.html

So with 20 extra gigs on Blu-ray I would think FOX could have given us both the rated and unratred versions of Die Hard 4 without sacrificing anything.
But why would they do that? Then we wouldn't douple dip...
99% of extras are in HiDef on Blu-ray (if their there at all )

Exactly, I would rather have eighteen hours of extras at 480i then a trailer and 20 minute documentary in 1080p. I don't want to sound like negative nancy here but I just amazed that some people on this forum actually think it's ok and condone studios ripping us off.

Yes, it is a big deal that FOX studios are still releasing titles using MPEG2!
Yes, it is a big deal that studios like FOX and Disney are not releasing the unrated versions of movies!
Yes, it is a big deal that studios are not putting enough extras on the disc when there is 50gb of space!

If Blu-ray wants to take over DVD they are going to have to better than this.

At least Blu-ray has the option to do this... because they are not limited by technology.

Are you serious? That makes it worse! It is blatantly obvious these studios want us to douple dip.

maybe you should look on the bright side, at least all the true blu exclusive studios Disney, Sony, Fox, and Lionsgate almost always use lossless audio on their blu-ray releases.

This surprises you? How many DVD's don't have more than one edition?

We don't care American Gangster, but we do like to make fun of a so-called next gen video format that can't deliver both high end video AND audio on the same disc.

They could come out with dual disc players that would run in sync. Audio on one and video on the other

what the hell is wrong with you people? i think bills artical was made to show that universal needs to hurry up and come over to blu, the war needs to end already. yes it has nothing to do with blu-ray but i think he's tired of waiting(just like us) for the 3 stooges to end this already.

I would rather not have 18 hours of junk taking up space on a disk since I will never watch it. I would rather have a high quality encode (regardless of whether it is MPEG2 or AVC or VC1) with lossless audio. I buy a title for the movie not the extras. If extras were so important, why do studios not advertise the extras rather than the movie? Simple, because no one buys a title because of the extras.

BD is already doing better than DVD by providing hi def video and audio - which is exactly what the format was meant to do.

Hot Fuzz does not have 18 hours of supplements. That's the usual marketing BS where they add up all the commentary tracks and everything else that plays while the movie is playing (total runtiime used for each one)

And Troy looks like crap because they squeezed 3 hours mostly of high action into 20GB

And if you'd bothered to use the search function, you would know that the unrated cut wasn't finished until late August, too late to enter the Blu authoring process

Con Air,Crimson Tide - No extended CUT
Kung Fu Hustle, Casino Royale - PG-13
Black Hawk Down - No extended CUT
Die Hard 4 - PG-13
M & C, ID4, IRobot , Ice Age, Ronin, Predator, Commando - continuously got bumped
Predator, Commando, Ronin - MPEG-2 BD-25
Man on Fire - Zero Extras - BOO.

Think twice before posting. Let's be more concerned about Blu-ray and BDA in blu-ray forum.

My Kung Fu Hustle is rated R....man, ur copy sucks...lol

I know it's horrible. I was hoping during the High Defintion era we wouldn't have to go through this. You would think studios would just get it right the first time.

So you are basically saying you want downloads then? Why pay for extra disc space and never use it?
