Will there be any confirmation on whether or not the colours have been double-checked/worked out on this one? Still quite wary given Fortune Star's fumbling of many masters from around that time, and the old US BD fumbling in this exact regard. Hoping there's nothing wrong on the master, and that if there is there'll be fixes.

I would think either Shout Factory or Criterion will release this. Shout! is the most likely to release this since they have done some Fortune Star titles before (Iron Monkey and the Jackie Chan films).

Eureka are also releasing this (and The Cat and The Canary) in the US

Eureka already mentioned they’re releasing those two in the US.

Erm... Last time I checked, The Academy didn't give awards for action choreography...

But they SHOULD have. People didn't watch this movie for the longing glances Michelle Yeoh was giving CYF

Anyone know if units of this and THE CAT AND THE CANARY bought directly from Eureka's site will also play on Region A (like 88, Radiance, some Arrow…), or is it going to be like Criterion where units are Region locked by US vs UK?
Update: Emailed Eureka directly and they confirmed that these are indeed Region A/B, so even if you buy either of these directly from their UK site, they will still play on Region A despite what it says.

Has anyone any info if they were able to locate original 35mm materials for the extended scenes from the Taiwanese version?

Just realized: As 88 are releasing several titles from Columbia pictures Asia (e. g. THE MEDALLION, SO CLOSE, TIME AND TIDE etc.) I am pretty sure that we will also see an HD release of BLACK MASK 2. I am pretty sure it will come in the next one or two years.

Wasn't Time and Tide Eureka?

Black Mask 2 is a very disappointing sequel but I would probably still upgrade it.

You are right. Nevertheless all the Columbia titles seem to be available for re-release on BD by independent lables.

BLACK MASK 2 is a pile of dung. It's so bad it's good.

As I just posted in the US release thread, Eureka seems to be shipping these out now. Just got a despatch email, which means they've finally fixed their email issues!
