I got the UK version in and amusingly, this image:
[Show spoiler] is indeed what is on the back of the case. The slipcover does have promotional photos on its back, but it looks like someone at Paramount UK forgot to include them on the back jacket, leading to a comically oversized credit block, which is not on the slipcover. |

The above frames line up with those on caps-a-holic for those who want to make comparisons to those.
Remember that these are from a UHD so the images had to be tone mapped to SDR so don't put too much weight into the colors. But you can look at grain in the sky with the helicopter and skin and clothing textures in other pictures etc. |

Yep can only concur, DNR'ed to death as usual, virtually no grain present and poorly encoded.

I don’t understand why they would bother with a catalog title that no one foresaw coming to 4K UHD at least not on my 4K bingo card and yet it’s just a waste of money.
Not sure why they felt the prestige of the whole Paramount Presents when I guess someone at the company saw this transfer and thought it looks so shiny and waxy and loved it. Whoever ok’d it for release should lose their job. They clearly aren’t reading the room. This sh!t is fine for streaming cause streaming is sh!t but not for optimal film like presentations on physical media. Just will be an excuse to say well, it sold horribly bad. (Yeah cause the transfer was crap - Not because no one wanted it) All that said I know I’m ![]() |

Honestly it doesn't look like a DNR botch job from those grabs. Looks like a soft film in general.
But that atrocious encoding is what looks like to be doing all the damage. Grain ain't there because what should be there isn't coming through that encoding. blocks, legos, and splotches galore. ![]() Does the DV layer bring much of that back? If at all? |

It's nothing new, the same is true for many Paramount Present 4K's, the HDR10 version has issues and looks sort of flat, and the encode is rescued in Dolby Vision looking decent. Thanks for those awesome caps comparing the two by the way.

My amazon.com order was delayed. I wonder why? I assume the discs are coming from Germany, the Sonopress factory.
