I really want to see this 3D version become real. Please guys support this!

The conversion will still see the light of day one way or another, but we need to evaluate precisely how this happens - it's likely when it does it will be in very limited quantities so if you want a complete AIPOP-3D Collection do please grab a copy when it comes out. Please keep an eye on our blog at aipop-3d.com for further news.

If they can they could include it as an incentive with future releases.

I'm sure they will. It's a shame this didn't get the funding but it was always going to be a very hard sell.

[Note about the following: I’m not being wise after the fact, as soon as the possibility of “Electric Man” being on the schedule came up, I posted that it was a bad idea. ]

Since IMDB has been brought up, I took a closer look, and the IMDB data shows why this project was doomed. Robot Monster has 5400 votes. Nightmare Castle has 2700. House on Haunted Hill has 30000. Electric Man has 55. There was no market for this movie, and there’s no hook. Barbara Steele is a cult icon, Vincent Price a horror legend, Robot Monster a classic of bad cinema. Each of them has a proven audience out there.

Still, a 7.2 score might give the impression this movie is an unknown gem just waiting to be discovered by a wider audience. But with so few votes, an appreciable proportion will be from people who worked on the movie (and their mates), trying to hype it up. Seeing which users went to the additional trouble of writing a review bears this out; all five reviews rave about the movie, give it 8, 9 and 10 ratings, all were posted within the space of three days about 12 years ago, and mostly by users who never did much else on IMDB. [One of them created a list of “My Favourite Films” and the only film on it is “Electric Man”. Another more active user who posted a glowing review and rated the movie a 9 is a fellow named Andrew who is clearly a big 3D fan. ]

Even with all the obvious home team support, 11% of votes are still 1 out of 10. Without all the cast and crew votes, an unbiased rating would come out much, much lower than a 7. I would estimate perhaps a 4, and that more realistic score is reflective of the quality people are seeing in the trailer and basing their purchase decision on. It is unfortunate that time and effort has been poured into this project but no amount of wishful thinking was ever going to make it viable. I would say the 3D community are being supportive of AIPOP, paying premium prices for BD-R discs of a still developing 3D process, but IMO you have to meet them halfway and offer a worthwhile movie.

[Speaking of which, after having little time for movies recently, I’m finally going to view “House on Haunted Hill” this week and am looking forward to it very much. ]

As a friend of the Director and actively involved in it's production (intro sequence mostly) I would obviously big-up the film. Would be silly and unsupportive not to - however if I were to genuinely rate it as a film for me it's more like a 6. It's still way more watchable than a fair number of 3D films I've sat through - but then that's obviously my own fault/choice.

Each to their own.

New Kickstarter tomorrow FYI. Another day to live through.

I bet it's a lot more watchable in 3D than it is in 2D.

And I bet your next Kickstarter hits its target.

Except if you bought the previous AIPOP releases already.

If I have to buy both of those again just to get Electric Man then I guess I'm never going to watch Electric Man. Saves me money I guess...

So Tommy Boy has finally got his hands on a copy of the limited edition, double-disc 3D Blu-ray release of AIPOP-03 "Electric Man 3D" - what does he think?

Pointing this out in case anyone assumes that they are going to receive an "Electric Man 3D" Blu-ray, based on having backed the original Kickstarter.

As the "Electric Man 3D" project failed to reach it's funding goal on Kickstarter, no-one was charged and the project from that perspective was cancelled.

Electric Man 3D on 3D Blu-ray is now however available to purchase from our AIPOP-3D online store.

This arrived yesterday, standard edition to go with the others. I like the reversible cover, the montage art better represents the film.

The Great British Heist arrived today so those will make for an interesting low budget UK 3D double bill.

Got and watched my ELECTRIC MAN. Enjoyed and thought the 3D was well done. It certainly "ain't no classic," but is great Saturday afternoon relaxation.

Aipop has done it again. Another outstanding 3D conversion by three guys working on a shoestring budget showing the major studios (with the staff and financial resources) how to get it right.
