Wanted to make a post about this in the Indy UHD thread but I figured it was off-topic.
This thing is incredible. Everybody saying it's the best Indy adventure since Last Crusade aren't exaggerating. An absolute treat for fans and I hope that those of us that aren't gamers will still get to experience it somehow via Youtube or watching a loved one play through it because it's such a delight. That is all. |

I am only a few levels in but this nails the atmosphere so far. I can see the gameplay being a little basic but I'm okay with that.
Both this and the Robocop game really nailed the vibes of their film counter parts. Edit: I am in the first open world area and there is so much to do. I am going to spent dozens of hours exploring throughout this game! Last edited by thenexus6; 12-09-2024 at 04:13 PM. |

Finishing up SH2 Remake before I get to this but it looks like I can have everything on Ultra with High RT and High vegetation movement at native 1440 and get 60fps on a Ryzen 5 5600x and RTX 4070 Super. That's what the settings screen tells me. We'll see once the gameplay starts.

Can't wait to play it. Here's an interesting question: if they had somehow been able to adapt this one for the silver screen back in the day with a young and fit Ford, would it have made for a more rousing, inspired story than Crystal Skull and DoD ?

I’m really enjoying this. It’s fairly basic in terms of its gameplay, but it feels like an authentic Indy experience and I really appreciate that it feels like an old-school action-adventure game. It’s slow-paced with plenty of exploration, and there is none of the mindless open world errand-running that plagues modern AAA gaming. It also feels like it’s a well optimized game. I’m only a few hours in but so far it’s my favorite game of the year, not counting the Elden Ring DLC.

In game had major stuttering issues so I dropped most of the major options to high while keeping all the RT stuff above high with upsampling on. Seems to be pretty solid so far for the first ten minutes.

I don't know if you're saying the PS5 has objectively better performance than the PS5 Pro (framerate, resolution) or the upgrade is so little you that it upsets you it's there at all.

I've been slowly playing through this and I'm still enjoying it. I am a little disappointed how it does end up having quite a bit of open world errand-running, at least in desert map. I'm guessing there will be at least one more main level in the game and I'm hoping it's more like the first, which felt more like a large, well-designed level than a big map designed for fetch quests.

The amount of character camera “wobble” during movement is a type of realism not needed for the game imo. Hence why the Center dot is always on.

Finished the game last night and overall it was great, thoroughly enjoyed it. The combat can get repetitive, but I was never flat out bored from it (beating up Nazis never gets old, I’d usually shoot/punch my way through enemy territory instead of
[Show spoiler] to sneak/walk through). My only real complaint is the map, wish it was full screen. Advice to anyone looking to get all of the achievements, buy the book that shows all notes on the map asap (also pay attention to the camera icon that pops up in the upper left hand corner). This will save you A LOT of backtracking. |

I finished it and thought it was great for the most part. Got a little repetitive in certain aspects and the map wasn't that easy to use. But I loved the story and it felt like playing an Indiana Jones movie. They nailed that part. Troy Baker was awesome as Indy too. Hope they polish and add certain gimmicks if they do a sequel. I certainly hope they will make one.

A really good game let down by the sum of it's parts. Traversal is finicky. Stealth is inconsistent and combat is not great, especially that final fight. I beat it the first go but I cheesed it. If they can decide what kind of game they want for the sequel and focus on making that as good as it can be they'll have a successful franchise on their hands.
