Agree with Geoff here. I do have contacts at this studio who have been working on the 3D remaster for Apple Vision. The focus here is unfortunately NOT disc but new theatrical Dolby 2D and 3D masters with HDR (and on a few titles HFR) for Apple Vision Pro. Alice through the Looking Glass and The BFG were recently completed.

Daft Punk in Atmos alone is worth the upgrade, HDR should be off the chain with this movie. I do remember it was an awesome 3D imax experience, but the 3D disc was always a disappointment.

The not-so-secret truth is that despite their lukewarm theatrical receptions, both Tron films move units. They wouldn't be doing a third otherwise. The theme park rides date back to the freaking PeopleMover tunnel, and even the extinct Horizons attraction at EPCOT.

I just hope the soundtrack isn't "atmoused". The blu-ray DTS-HD MA is an absolute beast of a track!

Same here. However, there are a few occasions of audible clipping in the soundtrack that I hope get fixed without messing with the otherwise excellent sound quality and dynamic range of it.

I bet this will look good in 4K. And it could make for a great Dolby Atmos mix.

Please let there be the Daft Punk isolated score in two tracks forms.
One stereo and the other ATMOS!

I’ve been dreading the new Jared Leto thing, but if it gets us this and the original remastered, I’ll consider it a win.

Be still my beating heart. I had a feeling we'd get this with the TRON ride and part 3 coming out. I hope it's just not a steelbook but I'll take what I can get. Hopefully the original TRON isn't far behind.

I'm agreeing with you on all of this, but there could be a slim possibility that they do release it when Tron 3 is released on disc. We are talking about two years out or so, not next week. Why miss an opportunity to cash in? It would be a perfect excuse to release it as a trilogy. I'm not the biggest Tron fan, but it would be nice to happen as we've said.

I already assumed that whatever UHD may or may not be planned for this won’t be released on physical until Leto’s film comes out, if at all. Hopefully it isn’t a digital only thing but if it is then whatever. The Blu-ray is still reference quality any day of the week, and unlike the current D+ stream, keeps the IMAX ratio intact. I would be torn on a prospective UHD if it had great HDR but was scope throughout.

I'll make it simple and to the point; no physical? not interested!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that not only do we actually see a physical disc, but we also get the first movie as well.
