What a time to join, one of my all time fav shows! lol Hopefully this goes through and happens, so glad Joss isn’t involved though. After everything that came out about who he really is I’m sure it would be super uncomfortable for anyone from the OG cast to work with him

I agree, guy did really great with Buffy. But I'm not going to ignore what he's done because of that and say he should be allowed to work with people who most definitely would not want to be around him

This is wild news. Never would have thought SMG would return for a revival. I'm OK with the creative team being different, new voices aren't a bad thing and plenty of people other than Joss have written for these characters at this point both on the original series and in comics, etc. Curious to see what other actors return and what this ends up being. Is it Buffy mentoring a group of new teenage characters? Or does it focus on Buffy as a middle aged adult?

I really hope this means we get a proper remaster of Buffy and Angel.

I'd be ok with Buffy being like the Dumbledore figure to a Slayer Academy, now that all females are slayers.

Something obviously will arise and they'll have to bring back the Chosen Chosen One lol

If only Disney would do a new remaster, keep everything (except Once More With Feeling) in 4:3 and just make it HD. Probably wouldn't be released on BD but it'd be HD and not shit on streaming at least.

I hope it takes off solely just so the classic show gets the proper X FILES type remaster treatment , it’s crazy how neglected the remaster was especially S1-3


As for the reboot yeah whatever anything that brings attention to the classic show I’ll take it, but it’s probably gonna be lame the show was off it’s time

Not sure how I feel about this. Stuff like this usually ends up being more bad than good. Love Buffy and Angel. Liked the comics a lot. So I'll watch no matter what.

Feel like they should revisit the animated series they were gonna do ages ago instead.

I'd definitely be more excited if the guy who was actually the talent was doing this and not an attempt to bank on nostalgia.

It might have a chance if they try to gather some of the writing staff (Espensen, Goddard).

But at least we'll get blu rays now.

All they can do is screw this up. The ending to the original series was great in my opinion. Buffy was of its time and worked best in the 90s. Just leave it be.

Yeah, it was a reboot by the movie's original screenwriter.

It was the kind of reboot that should happen more often. Average, forgettable movie but with a great idea. The original writer took more control and make something that was more in line with what his original vision was.

There is no writer/showrunner that they could hire that will make something that will be as good as the Buffy tv show. Not even Whedon himself.

I don't really think this will be a show trying to 100% capture the same feel as the OG, just a new story with some OG characters sprinkled in. Basically another spinoff like Angel, so I'm looking forward to it. Not going to change the original

I have to admit with Chloé Zhao directing I have a much better feeling about this had I would have otherwise. I’ve read several interviews with her over the last few years and she seems to be a genuine fan and respect for the franchise.

Just finished my Buffy re-watch yesterday so it's only fitting I get this news today. Hope it happens for SMG, she deserves it. With her attached, it def holds more weight then any of the previous tries they've attempted the past few years.
