Looks like another Mad Max box set for the collection. I'll be interested to see what's on the Special Features disc; it'd be nice to retire some things from the pile up of Mad Max releases I own.

What do we think is the likelihood of Black & Chrome being included in this big boxset?

I'm not really excited about this. The film looks very CGI heavy. Fury Road already got too much hype. IMO.

I'll probably pick this up as I have the others, but eh.

Should I watch in IMAX or Dolby Cinema?

Dolby Cinema (West End) have been a safe bet for me. Odeon Greenwich IMAX was awful. Never stepping foot there. Decisions decisions...
Others have rightly pointed out you’re gonna have a good time in Dolby cinema, but for what it’s worth, I saw it in IMAX and enjoyed the experience. Don’t think you’re gonna go wrong either way.

That being said, obviously don’t go to theater you know is bad.

Remember when new 4K titles were £20? They should at least bring it down to that price point if it's one disc.

Atmos sound was pretty fantastic in theater. Movie itself was fun and I'll pick it up, but definitely not as great as Fury Road.

Copying my post from the Anthology thread:

Mad Max 5-Film Collection includes:

Mad Max – 4K Ultra HD Disc
Mad Max 2 – 4K Ultra HD Disc
Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome – 4K Ultra HD Disc
Mad Max: Fury Road – 4K Ultra HD Disc
Mad Max: Fury Road Black & Chrome Edition – Blu-ray Disc
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga – 4K Ultra HD Disc
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga: Black & Chrome Edition – 4K Ultra HD Disc
Bonus disc – Blu-ray Disc

So Furiosa apparently get's a Black & Chrome Edition and this time even on 4K.

I think I prefer the UK SteelBook over the US one. The US one looks like another steering wheel like the just released Fury Road SteelBook reissue.

:-/ HMV Exclusive, unfortunately.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what this film even is (pls don't shoot me, I stopped following Hollywood in 2019). So this is a prequel to Fury Road's character who wasn't named Max? So Mad Max is not in this film, and instead Thor, but it's called Mad Max? Hmm, okay. Tbh I didn't get the hype for Fury Road whatsoever and just missed Mel Gibson when I tried to watch it. I saw some type of Terminator robot hand in the trailer pics and am intruiged but people talking about cheap looking Disney CGI have me wanting to pass. I suppose if Charlize Theron isn't in it it may be an improvement. I guess I am destined to own this when I pick up the next UHD set on sale.

I think you're missing that first word in the title.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

I do agree it's an odd choice for a title. Maybe they should have called it Furiousa: A Tale From The Wasteland.

Movie was a 9 out of 10 for me... Fury Road was 10 out of 10. So 90% as good as Fury Road, or something, haha. CGI didn't bother me, like it did when the trailer first came out.

[Show spoiler]A good portion of the film takes place with a younger actress so don't expect her for most of the film.

The complaints about the CGI are warranted. Not the worst, but noticeable in many places early in the film. Gets better as the film progresses, but not great overall. He really relied on CGI instead of practical this time around and it shows.
Some of the scenes were stunning though and the Atmos is bombastic in many places. Lots of action, but a lot more plot / dialogue when compared to Fury Road and shouldn't expect the same fast-paced, action-packed previous installment.

If Fury Road is a 10/10, this was a 7.5/10.

Saw this today and I rate this close to the above as well. Solid 8/10. Both my sons (17,15) said they actually liked it more than Fury Road…I DONT see that. Fury Road 10/10
