Say what you will about the film, it's actually a very entertaining thriller with loads of atmosphere that should look great on 4K. If you don't worry too much about wooden acting or miscasting, you should be able to enjoy this as a good creepy horror flick best viewed in the middle of the night.

Personally, I'd consider UHF to be the highlight.

I'm considering Phantoms just for the nostalgia factor, though...

The sequence where the whole town gets "alive" with the lights blinking and the horns buzzing was insanely creepy to watch in the theater. Everyone in the audience was just stunned after it ended. This film had a lot of potential but it got so boring and "scientific" in the second half. They should've kept it as it was in the beginning, a small group isolated in a town dominated by a terror you can't see.

Great cast but I always found it boring and forgettable. It goes nowhere.

Shame at the features. The UK DVD had BTS footage, and B-Roll Interviews. Very underwhelming for a Collector's Edition. All these Dimension Catalogue Blu-ray's/4K's are half as*ed. But regardless I'll pick It up at some point for the 4K scan

Fresh new 4k scan from the OCN. Oh hells, yes! Winning! True, the second half of the film is no great shakes, but the first half alone is worth the watch, imo. As far as Dean Koontz film adaptations go, it's solid enough and creepier than most, even faring better than some Stephen King film adaptations.

Yeah, it's a bit underwhelming but I'm glad we get at least something. I even offered Scream Factory that I could scan over 400 continuity production photos I own (from Steve Johnson) for them but I was told that the extras had already been locked.

Armageddon. Bruckheimer's signature move. Did the same for Cruise before Top Gun shot.

I imagine fixing Affleck's teeth would have cost more than the total budget for Phantoms.

Ballyhoo will be the ones producing the new extras for this release. SF have been using Reverend Entertainment for much of their newly produced extras lately, so I'm glad to see Ballyhoo getting some love too.

While his popularity has waned, I still read every new one as soon as it comes out. I'm a big Koontz fan also. My favorites are Watchers / Lightning / Strangers. All 3 would make fantastic short streaming shows, similar to Shogun (maybe a couple episodes less).

It'd be a 5th attempt for Watchers.
