Lionsgate will release a standard 4K in the US sometime this or next year. ONE FROM THE HEART came here faster than expected (even if only the Reprise Cut is getting a 4K from LG) and THE CONVERSATION is far more popular.

Looks great but that’s just too much shelf real estate.

The price is a bit steep but it's my favorite movie. I'll be lucky if I don't buy multiple copies lol

Discs should be housed in a regular UK case, then?

Based on the pic I guess we're to assume that they'll just float about in the box.

Since, as others have mentioned, the box appears to be the same kind of box as the "Mulholland Drive" box, rotated 90°, I'd expect a slim digi within the box. And a tape. And then lots of empty space underneath that.

I could really do without all that tat.....I'll wait for the standard edition. My lack of space has decided.

It really is. That’s the real outrage here. Not the ‘tat’ (just wait for a standard edition, for god’s sake), the cassette, or the price. I won’t support a release that has such disrespectful, tacky art.

That would still be about £30 for a cassette tape you would listen to maybe once (if you even have what to listen it on) and then never touch again. Its honestly a pretty good fit for a bonus thematically but I struggle to think what they could have put on it to make it even remotely worthwhile.

At this point I just expect terrible artwork from these 4K releases.

Obviously the original poster art would be ideal.

This cover is by Laurent Durieux, one of my favorite current artists.

https://www.laurentdurieux.com/

Coppola himself seems to be a big fan, as several of his films have had a Durieux poster in recent years.

Why can't studio canal figure out how to use stickers or a jcard? They really think those rating logos look great?

The original poster art is classic, glad they are including it as a poster at least.

The new artwork looks wonderful. Coppola loves that style, as shown with the incredible Apocalypse Now 4k/Blu set. Now this can sit alongside it!

Most importantly, I'm wondering if the Still Gallery will in any way compete with the complete collection of Deleted Scene Outtake Stills as listed below. It really is an incredible treasure trove - the next best thing to actually SEEING these mythical deleted scenes as shot in production. Presumably they were destroyed years ago if they're not being included here?

There's 62 total deleted scene photos. Plus I have another 51 outtake production photos from the Cinephelia website.

Honestly, I just don't think his style fits with most of those films. But obviously this is subjective.

My favorite Coppola I've seen thus far (still need to see ONE FROM THE HEART, DRACULA, RUMBLE FISH, THE COTTON CLUB, THE OUTSIDERS, and others).
I'd guess a combination of the tape and the packaging, the former is I'd guess actually more expensive to manufacture than CD's these days and it looks like a box similar to the Mullholland Drive set, maybe not as large because its not sideways on but looks bigger than normal boxes.

The Conversation has been scanned in 4K from the original camera negative, using a director-approved reference print as a color grading reference. The 5.1 sound mix created in 2000 by Walter Murch will be included, as will the original mono audio track. American Zoetrope restoration supervisor James Mockoski was involved in this work, which was approved by Coppola.
