It's funny to see that some people are still bitter about Twilight Time. Twilight Time was a tiny passion project and I'm grateful they were around as long as they were.

And released so many Fox and Sony titles that no one else got around to.

I have a hard time believing 101 Films was unaware of this new 2K scan of the IP prior to their current release. Of course, I just paid a pretty penny and imported the 101 Films release. Perhaps Shout was unwilling to license it, but I'm tired of this shit nonetheless.

Shout owns the film in the US, so I'm pretty sure this 2K scan was done in-house. If so, then 101 likely weren't aware of it. The 101 release does have some exclusive extras at least including a commentary track, and booklet.

Yeah, despite the release dates on their site, Shout store exclusives are often in stock already, so they tend to ship quicker.

Stock update: 1354 copies remain (266 copies sold)

It's a damn shame that this is store exclusive. I would love to buy this, but as a customer of a international shipment, this is going to be one sad missed opportunity to me. I really hate these kind of situations.

Diabolik will probably get some in at some point, or you could maybe use a re-shipper? Not sure if that would lower the shipping fees to where you are or not though...

While FOMO makes me hate this exclusive model, I can't resist upgrading to the unrated cut without VHS inserts.

Has that been confirmed though? I wouldn't be at all surprised if the interpositive they've scanned is conformed to the theatrical cut of the movie ....and they still use SD inserts for the unrated segments

That "2K Scan Of The 35MM Interpositive (For Both Versions Of The Film)" wording gives them plenty of wiggle room to claim a new scan of the unrated, because they'd technically be using it for the bulk of the movie.

Can't wait to start getting some feedback/screenshots of the disc from forum members. It's gonna be interesting.

The fact that they didn’t advertise the unrated cut being full HD for the first time is a bit of a red flag. Combined with it being a limited run it really smells like a cash grab. Preordered mine and very much hoping to be wrong.

As a Canadian I dislike Shop exclusives cause they cost an arm and a leg. But I had to go for this since I really want the film in my collection. Got a future triple feature night set up with this, Driller Killer and Ms 45.

I watched this on Tubi the other day. It was the unrated cut. The inserts were frankly horrible, as expected. VHS quality, so beware if you are watching that cut. Nice to have them, but it didn't add anything to my memory. The pq was actually not that bad, so the disc should look fairly decent. $30 though, I will wait and see. Maybe it will make it to those $20 sales they have, like some of the other exclusives.

Some huge changes with the new release. Does appear to be a new transfer. Does not appear stretched. Looks very organic. Original shout disc was 1.57:1 aspect ratio, this one is 1:85:1. Checked the first Unrated scene and the quality is just as good as the rest of the film, no VHS quality.

On one hand, I’m happy we’re getting the uncut version in HD quality in the correct aspect ratio.

On the other hand…sigh, am I seriously going to pay Shout Limited Edition prices to double dip on a film I just bought a week and a half back?

…Probably.

My tracking from USPS initially said my package (along with Darkness) would be delivered May 30th (gotta love Media Mail), but I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email this morning indicating it was out for delivery. That was a shockingly quick turnaround.
