Yeah, I mentioned in the Kino Lorber thread that this interview may of been the last major thing he did before passing.

Kino Lorber Insider revealed that they conducted their interview with George Wendt just days before he died.

Looking forward to giving this a blind buy watch I also love George Wendt I’m glad that he was able to interview Frank and the Kino crew on this release before he died. I’m going to miss him so much

Now we know the reason for the long delay. Paramount decided to do a 4K scan of the OCN which will almost always result in a stellar transfer.

Well worth the wait.

Man, I wish the pre-order would go up for this at Amazon so I can pre-order it with Repossessed and get free shipping. Repossessed has been up for pre-order since the 13th and just went up for pre-order at Target and Walmart(and Barns & Noble). But nothing yet for Gung Ho other then Kino's site.

Price is reasonable I think. I may buy it for the interviews. Though I don't buy discs much anymore after all the streaming at our fingertips. I look at my collection now and say damn, did I have a problem?

Kinda cool we have movies like this that will never be made again in this tone or style. That's what's great about older movies. Hollywood would have no interest in making Gung Ho today.

My "One-Eared Elephant" edition blu-ray arrived today! Will check it out after work. Very happy to finally have this on blu-ray.

Mine showed up today from Amazon and included a slipcover. Looking forward to seeing how it looks when I get the time.

After having the chance to check it out I would say the detail level is great, there definitely is grain present and colors are vibrant. The only 'damage' still present that I noticed was any time that there are baked in subtitles or titles (credits, etc) on screen there are very noticeable artifacts present from whatever method they used back then to overlay those titles. Looks almost like a dirty print but likely the best they could do with the elements they had.

I'm by no means an expert but as a huge fan of the movie I think most will be really pleased with this one.

Watched it last night. Looked good to me. Lots of grain, nice solid colors. Nice bonus interviews. Sad that Mr. Wendt is gone now.

I saw this at the drive in with Friday the 13th: Jason Lives when I was 10 years old! I've been a fan ever since.

My copy just came in today.

If the very short lived T.V. series which had some of them movie cast in it ever got released, i would get that too.

I'm so glad KL brought this out. I ordered it today. This was a long-time favorite of mine... I can't wait to watch it soon. I just ordered the DVD a couple months ago when I realized it wasn't in my collection. Great fun film.
