I did not like the "Into the Spiderverse" movie they previously produced and I really despise musicals, so I did not expect to like this movie. But i'm glad I gave it a shot, because it's really good.

I'd go so far that I would even support a 4k uhd release.

Sony self-distributed Mitchells and Vivo, both Netflix Original films made by Sony Animation, on digital and home video so it's more likely they'd distribute this on home video

Sounds good to me. Whoever does it, this movie should be released on bluray. Glad to see the OST getting a release; hopefully that portends the bluray release.

For those who want to watch something similar after watching this, Netflix has an animated series called Jentry Chau vs the Underworld. It's a fantastic watch, probably my favorite animated series of 2024 after Arcane's crash landing of a finale in season 2 (The second season was so good, but the last 1 1/2 episodes did a lot of damage).

I can second the Jentry Chau recommendation, it's well worth watching!

I just wish it had lasted longer, the 13 episodes felt very rushed sadly.

The last time I enjoyed the songs in an animated film this much was A Goofy Movie.

I think they nailed the concert kpop concert experience pretty accurately.

I've watched the movie last weekend. It was very entertaining and the music was very catchy and normally I listen to metal.
It was very fun watching the movie. My wife already knew most of the songs, before watching the movie

Kpop Demon Hunters is a massive hit for Netfilx were talking 100 million views in two months, already planning 2 sequels and possibly a live-action movie or a stage musical. Obviously there is no physical media yet, but they would make tons of money if they release a Blu-ray / DVD.

This is perfect timing, I just saw the film a few days ago! Loved the positive messages of self love and teamwork etc.

I fully understand now why people were also comparing this to Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld, alot of similarities.

I'm Korean American but not really into K-Pop and I blew this movie thinking it was going to be dumb and stupid. But keep hearing all the raves about it so I finally gave it a watch and WOW... what a surprise. This probably was the best animation movie to come out of 2025. This was a pleasant surprise. I now have watched it more than 5 times and the soundtrack of this movie is just amazing. The hype is real and I'm really hoping that it gets released on a physical media.

A theatrical release will be happing at selected locations on the weekend of August 22nd - I am not sure if this is only at Regal but showtimes have been showing up at a few of their their locations
