German BR is supposed to be uncut too(which it is quite not) but have to wait more specs to be certain. Bit disappointed #3 was not rumoured more on horror based but at least chu yuan word around was correct he is featured.

What is missing? I have the German blu and remember there being SD footage inserted during the finale.

The German BD is based on the old Celestial master with massive frame cuts. Arrow has done new restorations for all 14 films in this box set. So if the BBFC has nothing to complain about the movie should be indeed uncut. And even if it has BBFC cuts: As with Volume 2 this set will be released in the US as well, and if you own a codefree player, just set it to region A and you will be fine.

I have to remember WTF I have now. I think I only have One Armed Swordsman, 88 Films' BD. I also think it is the only one I've seen from this set.

I am all over for more Cheng Pei-pei w/ this Lady Hermit. I LOVE Come Drink with Me, probably moreso cuz of her. I like King Hu too but she had something for that one. Just... wow.

Dig the green. I'm for it.

I'll do what I always do with these Shaw sets, both Arrow and Shout, cannibalize it. I watch the sets and keep what I want and make custom cases for them and ditch the rest. I hate stuff on the shelf that doesn't reflect my tastes.

Bastard Swordsman but no Return of Bastard Swordsman.
I can't state how stupid that is. It's like Kill Bill without KB 2.

The "Shaw Brothers presents" mini sets are also really good value IMHO. Basically with combining some bonuses back in the day when Arrow was still shipping to random EU countries, I think I got one of those shipped for like 15£ - containing 4 movies.
Quote:
Delivery: £5.00
Total Cost: £15.00
(ok this is cheating a bit since I had applied the loyalty bonus which can be applied to any movie while you've spent a lot of money on other things)

Also lets you pick and choose somewhat, for example I skipped the Chang Cheh one. But I plan to watch some of his movies on Mubi to see if maybe I want to get that anyway.

He didn't say they were trying to get another film uncut either. Someone asked if Clans of Intrigue is also uncut, and he just said "More details to be confirmed at the end of August!". So neither a confirmation, or denial.

Here's the whole exchange:

I knew it was something along those lines just couldn't find where I'd seen that otherwise what I'd written would be different.

I'm quite surprised that it's €172,95 at rarewaves !
I sure would like to pre-order it from Arrow but £15 for shipping (to France) is quite awful.
Are the £120 from Arrow just a pre-order price that's gonna disappear after release ?
I don't know how it worked for the previous two sets as I ordered them from Zavvi when it was still shipping to France.
Thanks !

£120 is the retail price, just as it was for Vol 2.

If Vol 3 doesn't sell well then it will no doubt be discounted in sales but nobody knows how many they have produced - they made far too many of the last two boxes so there will definitely be less of these.

Ok thanks very much.
I guess I'll just wait for it to calm down to £120 on rarewaves.

wowhd has this up for pre-order for €111.96

If they honour that price it is almost "bargain".

Not sure where you are based but here in UK there would be 20% VAT added to that price, so around £112 in total.
