Each to their own - but it's simple and doesn't look like a dropped trifle.

And "Goin' South", "Little Darlings" and "RAD" and might still forget one or two, but these I know for certain.

The last 2 I own/checked don't say so at any rate, so I wouldn't just assume so and also don't think so (unless reliably confirmed). I'm sure there are some more though, but I'd have to search which. People are also rather quick to falsely just claim so. As in it happened.

Are there any details on the extras and specs?

In a FOMO knee jerk I pre-ordered this even though I have the Vinegar Syndrome release.
Are there any confirmed differentiating features yet?

Nope, and we probably won't find out until gets listed on 88's site which will be around 2-3 weeks before release

Obviously things could change, but it seems this release won't have DV

So looking at the specs for this compared to the Vinegar Syndrome version..

Exclusive to 88 Films
- 4 COLLECTABLE ART-CARDS
- DOUBLE SIDED FOLD OUT POSTER
- Audio Commentary by Kim Newman and Sean Hogan
- Don’t Bite the Pineal Gland - Jeffrey Combs on From Beyond
- All Aboard the Love Machine - Barbara Crampton on From Beyond
- Back From Outer Space - Ken Foree on From Beyond
- Monster Unleashed - Brian Yuzna on From Beyond
- Reflections with Stuart Gordon “ A Director’s Perspective”
- Lost and Found

Exclusive to VS
- Commentary track with screenwriter Dennis Paoli
- "Re-Resonator: Looking Back at From Beyond" (97 min) - a brand new making-of documentary featuring interviews with actors Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton and Ken Foree; screenwriter Dennis Paoli; producer Brian Yuzna; film editor Lee Percy; composer Richard Band; foley artist Vanessa Ament; effects supervisors Michael Deak and Anthony Doublin; effects artists William Butler, Gabriel Bartalos, John Naulin and Robert Kurtzman
- "A Director's Perspective" (9 min) - reflections with director Stuart Gordon
- "Stuart Gordon on From Beyond" (20 min) - a 2012 interview with the director
- "A Tortured Soul" (18 min) - a 2013 interview with actor Jeffrey Combs
- "The Doctor Is In" (14 min) - a 2012 interview with actress Barbara Crampton
- "Paging Dr. McMichaels" (20 min) - a 2013 interview with actress Barbara Crampton
- "An Empire Production" (7 min) - a 2013 interview with executive producer Charles Band
- "Multiple Dimensions: The Creatures & Effects of From Beyond" (23 min) - an effects focused featurette from 2013
- "Monsters & Slime: The FX of From Beyond" - an effects focused featurette from 2012
- "Gothic Adaptation" (16 min) - a 2012 interview with screenwriter Dennis Paoli

On both releases
- Audio Commentary by Stuart Gordon, Bryan Yuzna, Barbara Crampton & Jeffrey Combs
- Interview with Composer Richard Band
- Storyboards Intro and Storyboard Comparison
- Original Trailer
- Stills Gallery

I would say there's a possibility that some of the interviews are the same on both releases but just titled differently. The VS wins in the extras department for the 97 minute making of.

Most of the extras are likely the same with different titles, yes.

That said, knowing that 88's releases are usually brighter/more saturated than VinSyn's, I think that'll work more in their favor for FROM BEYOND than it did with, say, RIGHTING WRONGS or MAGIC CRYSTAL given the source itself.

Also, 88 will probably have better audio options overall, so I expect 88 to win on presentation, especially if it's an FIM job (though I could be wrong).

I haven't received a response regarding the origins of the 4.0 mix / any extra details on it, but they told me it will NOT have a Fidelity in Motion encode unfortunately

It seems the VS and Shout releases had the Ultra Stereo in a 5.1 container. Rear duplicated to be dual mono and the LFE is empty. Also seems the Second Sight had a 4.0 track - apparently the VS is a bit clipped compared to this.
