Seeing as Warner Archive released Top Cat and the Beverly Hills Cats on Blu-ray as part of the Hanna-Barbera Superstars 10 boxset back in February, it was only inevitable that the main series would follow suit as well. Here's hoping Wacky Races is next in line since that series has a new HD restoration that has been airing on MeTV Toons since its launch last week.

Top Cat is the first time in a long while where WAC has put out a new restoration of a cartoon. It's proclaiming 2024 HD prints from new scans of the negs.

The LT Collector Choice, H-B Superstars and DTV Scooby discs were made using existing HD transfers made years before.

I agree, MeTV seems to be a godsend for mid to late 20th Century cartoons, or, basically all the ones I grew up with.

Yes, the Spielberg cartoons need a blu-ray. Honestly, a little surprised none of them, not even Animaniacs, have come out yet on Blu-ray. There was a time I though WHE would handle it, but maybe it would be a WAC thing now?

Yep, just wanted to clarify the meaning of the "and more" from the PR as some people were taking that as a confirmation of new bonus features.

It was Ruby-Spears. Which kinda makes it Hanna-Barbera by default nowadays - Warner released some shows from Ruby-Spears on DVD under the Hanna-Barbera name.

I would like the complete series, but they only released season 1 on MOD DVD, so I would be shocked if we got anything more.

Since Wacky Races is airing in new HD masters, I wouldn't be surprised if that's next. I think bumpers using The Perils of Penelope Pitstop are also in HD, but we'll see next week when the show begins airing. Not that I would buy either, but it gives an idea of what's done. Atom Ant and Peter Potamus currently air in SD

Some Yogi Bear airs in HD too. So maybe that’ll be next as well.

Those have been on HBO Max in HD for a number of years though so they're not new.

I do believe they've actually done a lot of HB as is. Mostly the later content that wasn't filmed in early digital since its just a direct scan. Hopefully this means the actual good, earlier content will be the focus

That's had an HD restoration on itunes for years. The version on the Blu-ray set just an SD downscale of the same restoration.
