I like 4 of the 5 I've seen (Haven't seen All the King's Men). When I think of All the King's Men I think of that Sopranos episode.

Default Five By Six

With the first four already on my shelf, the fifth is an easy addition with six solid additions.

At the top are The Age of Innocence (one of my favorite Scorseses and a superb cast led by DDL), and career defining performances from Brando in Waterfront and Scofield in Seasons.

All The King's Men I haven't seen in donkey's years, but will gladly revisit Crawford chewing up Louisiana; I wasn't particularly impressed by Greta's solid but safe Little Women, but I'm sure my daughter will want to revisit and enjoy, and Tootsie is definitely an 80s time capsule good for more than a few laughs via Hoffman & Co., along with Pollack's superb direction.

Would've preferred the '94 version of Little Women but still an excellent set.

I was hoping Moneyball would be included in Volume 5. Hopefully it gets a stand alone release like Captain Phillips.

Would definitely think that Moneyball is a big enough seller which warrants a stand alone release. It being a sports film, has Brad Pitt etc.
Don't know how it did at the box office.

Sony hasn't released two Columbia Classics sets in one year before. I'm glad to see they are continuing and with some films I've really wanted in 4k too.

I think this one is a pass for me.

The upgrades for Age of Innocence, On the Waterfront, and Man of all Seasons would really be nice. But not if its priced the same as vol4 was.

Skipping this volume. I'll grab the steelbook of On the Waterfront whenever that comes out and we all know it will.

Yep. On the Waterfront is the only must have title for me, Tootsie is good too.

I'm curious if they'll do the three aspect ratio thing for On the Waterfront like what Criterion did for their BD

Criterion's Blu-rays are usually good enough that there's a high likelihood I'll be satisfied with those and decide not to upgrade to a 4K issued by them or the studio proper and this is the case here - at least with Tootsie. I don't need everything in 4K

Das Boot, Midnight Express, Donnie Brasco

C'mon, we know 4K is niche but Sony don't need to rub it in.

I figured Tootsie, On the Waterfront, and A Man for All Seasons would eventually be on these sets.

If there's a Volume 6, that'll likely include You Can't Take It With You since that's a Best Picture winner and already has a 4K digital release.

This is a great selection of movies though. I'll gladly pick up this set.

Vol 4 will soon be 99.99 and this has the same setup maybe worse, Vol 3 is 80$ lol.

The sets after 1&2 would need 2 or 3 tootsies to go oop

If not for the new title, this could've been the most consistently great set for me yet... I wish they had put in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Take Shelter or We Own The Night, something along those lines. But the other 5 are real gems in the set.

How would you all rank these sets so far?

I only bought 1 and 2 so far.

I haven’t seen most movies in these sets, and with the pricing and shelf space, I’m not too sure I want to keep blind buying.
