The old DVD was sourced from a 16mm print with burned in French subtitles. This new 4k/bluray comes from a newly found 35mm print which also has burned in French subtitles. However, the burned in subtitles on the 35mm scan are lower in the frame than they were on the 16mm print. So better PQ and less obtrusive subtiles (especially in the cropped version) makes this a very worthy upgrade if you are a fan of the film, Leslie Stevens, Conrad Hall, Shatner, or Esperanto.

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind getting the Blu ray for $11 but sadly it’s not region free!

Replacement copy from Amazon is the correct 4K disc. I can now watch it and give my review. lol

I was wondering if I'd receive the 4K or the blu, but it turns out that I get neither -- Aug. 15th: "Package delayed in Transit." Aug. 21st: "Delivery date is unavailable."

I'm just clicking for a refund. If it ever shows up, hopefully it's the 4K, in which case I'll keep it and just let them re-charge me. Kinda weird that the one time this happens with Amazon, it's a questionable listing/item like this.
