Mathilda May says yes.

Although, there is the chance that you might not be quite as shallow as I am....

I've never seen the movie, but have heard a lot of things about it and think it will be my cup of tea; pre-ordered

Do you like naked women and space vampires and Patrick Stewart?

Beyond that, it's really hard to tell with you sometimes. I was convinced you'd dig Halloween III and, well...

Shout was never an option for me, I'm glad Arrow finally stepped up. I've been a fan of this ever since renting the P&S VHS way back when. Paid silly money for the WS laserdisc some years later.

And, no, it's just not for Mathilda May although she doesn't hurt...

Fookin hell I thought that was awful. I know that horror as a genre likes to make up its own rules but HIII is so insanely random (and yet utterly predictable at the same time!) that I just couldn't enjoy it on any level.

Yeah, I mean I love this movie but it's absolutely bonkers. For me that's half the fun, though.

Depends on how much you like Tobe Hooper. But Poltergeist and Texas Chain Saw Massacre this ain't. It probably has more in common with Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 tbh as they were both Cannon productions - and certainly feel like it - and both are batshit insane.

Every millisecond of Lifeforce is this bonkers, and you will never, ever forget it, not even when you've lapsed into a coma from wood alcohol consumption.

Fun is the operative word for Lifeforce. For our friend Geoff I wouldn't say it's anything like Halloween III -- which is really kind of one-note unpleasantness that I find less appealing the older I get -- or on a Hooper scale, Texas Chainsaw 2. In terms of scale it's much more like Invaders From Mars but 10 times more entertaining IMO.

It's a big, glorious, epic end of the world/vampire/nude Matilda mashup with so much to enjoy. Mancini's score, the seriously good FX work, the straight performances of a terrific British cast so serious they make the film a hilarious good time -- often unintentionally so, but that's what I love about it. Plus Railsback out of control. Firth is terrific too.

There's really nothing else like it, and I'm happy Arrow is giving us the 4K we deserved but didn't get from Shout. Christmas is coming in February for me lol!

I enjoyed this one, pre-ordered from HMV with 20% off. Just the right blend of sci-fi hokum and grotesque horror for me. The use of practical effects is probably considered poor but I liked that. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 on the other hand is just noise, was maybe 30 mins in and all I could think was "please make it stop" but I have a 'always finish a movie' policy.

Pity there won't be a 4K restored blu-ray of the International Cut; I was curious to see how the Arrow would stack up against the 4K scan Shout did for the '18 steenbok 1080p (is 'steenbok' still a thing on the board?)... Most interesting will be how Arrow deals with what is an insane amount of wobble in the IP (assuming it's source related; the weave has appeared in every edition of this version of the film). Would they have to define a safe "center" in order to digitally stabilize and crop off the wobble zones on the periphery? That could represent a significant amount of screen real estate... In terms of resolution, also interested to see if Arrow can eke out a meaningful upgrade in detail over their--and Shout's--remastered editions of the longer version, all IP source limited... Oh, yeah, and something relevant at the HD level would have been whether, a la Arrow's edition of Riddles' LEGEND, Arrow could've Frankensteined a version of the International Cut, cobbling it together from the fresh scan of the OCN and bits from the IP exclusive to the International Version. Arrow never officially acknowledged they did this for the Director's Cut of LEGEND, but it's actually a hodgepodge of the answer print only portions of the film exclusive to the DC...and the remaining pieces culled from a new scan of the negative. I guess their sense was the quality transitions wouldn't be too jarring at the 1080p level for their new blu of the DC (they elected not to do a 4K UHD of LEGEND).

The international cut of Lifeforce is not very good. Just 15 minutes of cutting room material that slows the movie down. It's mostly just people talking and that version even omits a couple of interesting shots - people getting attacked in the streets as an example.
