The UK will be getting a 4K release of Heretic (2024) from Entertainment in Video on February 24th. It will include a commentary with Writer-Directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods

Bear in mind that it’s EIV, bot the greatest of labels imo.

I think I will just go for the Blu-ray, doesn’t seem the type of film that is crying out for a 4K.

They were the worst of the worst, but their 4K releases have been pretty dang decent. Civil War is superb.

I am going for the standard UHD/Blu combo. The Steelbook is nice, but would rather not wait two months after the standard edition to watch it.

I ordered the UK version, and will cancel the Plaion release I have pre-ordered at Amazon Germany. It's a little bit annoying, because I have credit at Amazon Germany (so it would have cost me nothing out of pocket). However, not giving Plaion another cent is worth it.

I know nothing about Entertainment in Video. Do they do their own video encoding and/or audio mixes, or is it more likely the encode and/or audio mix is a direct port of A24's release?

Yeah, I mean I also import most of the time, but a Plaion release is probably the best one and I hence ordered that one (despite the mediabook). "Love Lies Bleeding" (Plaion vs. A24) says hello.

EIV isn’t the best on past reputation going back to the DVD days, but Geoff (forum member who really knows his stuff) says their 4K transfers are really good, so I trust him.

I blind bought the U.K. UHD myself. It just arrived.

Don't mention what that I didn't?!

If EiV aren't a big 4K player, I'd assume they’re taking other people's assets (encodes and audio mixes) for their discs. Which is good if those assets are good. I know Village Roadshow use other studios complete 4K discs that they release in Australia (they don't even author their own 4K discs).
