February 2025 50 Movie Challenge

I'm not a huge Western film fan, but I do enjoy a good Mystery, and a guilty pleasure of mine is Slashers. This movie is a mix of all of those. Combine that with star power, an opening and ending song sung by the King of Cool himself, and a smattering of good stunt work and cool photography, it all makes for a fine and entertaining movie.

The animation is great, but I didn't connect with the story as much as I would've like. Maybe on a repeat viewing it will work better for me. Glad it's getting a sequel though.

I was not expecting this to be so melodramatic. But that's what it is, a melodrama. It's got some humor, a lot of tragedy, a great karaoke song, and romanticized violence, though oddly, it's not super-gratuitous, even though this is apparently a Category III film. On another note, I just found out my phone can make animated gifs pretty easily, so if I don't find any on the net I like for movies I watch going forward, I'll just make my own!

I stumbled upon the Zeiram movies one weekend on the Sci-Fi Channel years ago. Loved them. I keep meaning to revisit.




A Star is Born (1937) I don't know if it was the right one, but I finally watched a version of A Star Is Born. Pretty good.

Tentacles (1977) Thrill - to random freeze frames set to harpsichord music! Terrible, yet a goofy retro charm makes it watchable.
