For crying out loud, if we can get these in 4K, surely Universal (or Kino) can give us more classic monster movies in 4K too!

I was just thinking about A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN, hoping it would get a 4k release for Halloween. This is amazing news, and adding HOLD THAT GHOST to the mix is icing on the cake. HTG is definitely their best film from the early forties, and was actually filmed before BUCK PRIVATES.

The original DVD of Meet Frankenstein had the opening credits NOT window boxed. For whatever reason they chose to window box them when they remastered the film to BD. That’s why some of us are curious.

I've always wondered what the reasoning for windowboxing the titles on certain masters. Thanks for answering something I've always wondered but never cared enough about to ask.

Anyways, looking forward to this set!

Fantastic news. I do wish they came in more of a slim collection box though, my space for this kind of stuff is getting vanishingly small and it looks like this will take up more space then my A&C blu ray set does and that covers 28 films rather than 6. I realise there's other people who like individual cases for individual films, but I don't have the luxury of that kind of space anymore.

I wonder what the extras will look like? Hope they at least carry over the universal set stuff.

While I do prefer the credits not be windowboxed, I do admit I sometimes miss this red windowbox around the credits for Phantom of the Opera (1943). Goes well with the curtain backdrop.

This set is perfect for the monster fan that only wants the horror related comedies. I myself like all the Abbott and Costello films and have the shout set which is perfect for me.

Yeah this is an issue with Kino’s packaging IMO. I’d be all over their noir sets, but their insistence to give each film its own case means I don’t have the shelf space for them.

Wow, very happy to see these movies coming out as a box set in 4k UHD. Never thought that would happen but so glad Kino Lorber is making it a reality. Really love the Box Artwork. Day One Purchase!

I will definitely be grabbing this. Hold that Ghost was a personal favorite of my late father's. He was the one who got me into Abbott & Costello.

I lost count over how many copies of Frankenstein I own but it will be great to own it on 4K.

If you don't own at least 5 you need to turn in your home theater enthusiast card. No exceptions

After this, the only thing we will not have is a new regular Blu-ray from the new 4K of "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" — Guess I'll buy that too if it comes to exist.

I do have the required 5 copies of the older Blu-ray. Plus DVD and a Castle Films short from when I was very young.

I wish they considered Time as well since it is a ghost story, but really hoping these masters are incredible and that the price point is not...lol

Since they've gone down the mysteries + horror route maybe they should've included Who Done It? Just a thought.
