I agree, it’s really bad. I mean, it’s not poorly made, but it looks more like a modern comic or something unrelated to the movie.

There’s no original exclusive artwork.

Maybe I'll get standard edition. The standard edition could include both cuts?

I rent this on VHS as a kid back in the day and I was impressed by the atmosphere, I don't remember too much about the movie.

I'm getting tired of this experience regardless of the movie.
I agree that in a perfect world all 4K releases would use original poster art. As far as Arrow is concerned, I thought their True Romance release had some utterly abysmal art that still gives the shudders. I saw it again just a few days ago and that box art still makes me wonder what the hell they were thinking. I love the film but man, Arrow should have to pay me to display that thing on the shelf.

Don't worry, it hasn't gone up for sale there yet. I linked to the page in the OP, assuming it would go live shortly after, but it still hasn't yet.

The movie is basically a mix of comic book films like Blade, The Crow, Batman infused with dystopian sci-fi and 40s-50s detective/noir so I don't se how it's misleading or unrelated.

In my eyes it is poorly made; its got the air and technique of yet another cartoonize-me app draw over.
Looking like a "modern comic" is right on the money actually.

It doesn't look like the movie at all or any of the material of the era its an homage to, especially the series you mentioned. We got artists from that age still doing art to this day ripe for the picking and instead Arrow gets these dudes who have no idea what they're doing. It's very funny but also very sad. But then again, people who like this particular off-brand "comic" look would probably throw a hissy fit if Frank Miller, Tim Sale, Mike Mignola, or even David Mazzucchelli did a cover but them's the breaks!

It's made by same artist that did the new artwork for Blackhat, which eventually got demoted to the inside. We need Mann to step in here too, and tell Arrow this isn't the one either.

This is literally that whole corporate blob art thing but less blob. It's so bad. And I'd forgotten about it and now it's back! lmao!

I would probably puke considering how he's been drawing these last twenty years

It's instances like this that make me double down on my belief that reversible covers are a most welcome and underrated "bonus feature."

Pre-ordered this the day it went up on Rarewaves. I don't like the art either but the case has reversible art so as with all Arrow releases I'm flipping it around ASAP. I'm glad it's got Atmos, surely it'll have Dolby Vision and they forgot to mention it.

I can tell instantly one special feature that's being left off is the director's cut fact track. Not a big loss but I did enjoy it so it'll be a shame that it's gone now.

I like the artwork in itself. It's like a comic book cover. It's not this film though.

I just realized I haven't seen the Director's Cut before as it was released 10 years later and I've only ever had the DVD! I'm so excited to see the Director's Cut in 4K with Atmos for the first time.

Iirc the DC had its colour grade redone, or at least the BD release of it did. If I’m correct in that and currently we’ve got the TC with something closer to the original colour timing and DC revised, has anything been said re: what form each will appear on for these new arrow discs? i.e. will the TC retain the old colour or be revised to match the DC?
