It may be that I confirmed my account or something when Melusine was spun off but I've never purchased from them before.

I'd also score fewer points with a purchase on the Melusine site (88 vs 110-VS) which may have something to due with my customer tier status?

Order stacking appears to have the usual limitations - preorders/sale orders only, buying existing stock apparently won't engage the stacking option.

There's been some hoary old retrospective bollocks written about Last Tango in Paris not least the actual rape & sodomisation of Schneider, which is completely false. It is a controversial issue of course and there are so many conflicting accounts, even from Maria Schneider herself who later stated that Brando acted like a Father towards her. Bertolucci fared less well in memory.

Like all great art it's hard to pin down, Pauline Kael (who you'd think would hate it, f***ing loved it), also, it would take a brave individual to castigate a screenplay with Agnès Varda's input as misogynist.

It has some flaws but haven't all masterpieces?
Have you seen BEING MARIA which is a movie about the actress making the movie?

I'm feeling that one too, and it's the artwork I'm familiar with. Is the VS design brand-new or based on original marketing materials?

As noted earlier, the two "hard cases" look different but I'm assuming the VS also has that side loading slot (not visible to me in the photos) just like the Melusine case, and for that matter all the other Distribpix cases on the VS site.

Three very good films indeed. It doesn't have a 4K, but I'd add The Sheltering Sky too. I feel like it's become the forgotten Bertolucci film.

I haven’t. Is it any good?

The red & bold text betrays an annoyance or impatience regarding my post, for the record, I’m in neither camp.

I just learned about the movie last month.
I will rent it when it becomes available.

Matt Dillion plays Brando.

I’d never heard of the film, reading up on the premise it sounds interesting in that it seems to address her life prior, and subsequent to Last Tango in Paris which hopefully will give a more reasoned and objective approach to why Schneider was so damaged.

Even a cursory glance at her early life would indicate that a bad hand dealt her in childhood contributed to her mental state. I also think it’s safe to say that Bertolucci perhaps manipulated that part of her character during filming, this he had stated himself during his latter years.

Interestingly, he said he held no regrets in doing so.

Just a heads up, if you have an existing VS order you can order the Melusine edition and have it tacked onto an existing VS order. Glad that option was there. Glad since the Melusine art is so much better IMO.

Too bad this doesn't work the other way around. Ordered at Melusine first and can't stack if I want a pre-order from VS.

The Melusine cover art is fine. I'm sure the VS art isn't analogous to anything....

OMG almost missed this one. Got the limited one and there are only 256 left. Didn't even realize I could apply a $20US ($28CDN) credit for points, so got this for $35.63CDN and free shipping?!?

I couldn't pair a reward amount and free shipping together / said one offer per order and took my free shipping subtraction off

Brian, do you know if the VS order has to be a sales item or preorder for order stacking to be engaged? Like if I buy a VS title that's been out awhile - say "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" - do you think I'd be able to order stack the Melusine "Last Tango"?

So I just preordered this. Given the controversy, am I going to hell?

I ordered the new Gialli set along with a release from last year, then went to Melusine and ordered it, chose to add it to existing VS order. I wasn't charged shipping for the order at Melusine. I don't think it matters.
