I bought an SD movie first before I even had a player back in the day. This forced me to break down and buy the player a couple of months later.

Technically Harry Potter 3 & 4 from that last true BOGO. But I had Goodfellas before they arrived. So arguably it's either one.

Silent Hill. My brother and I were watching the DVD (we're both huge fans) and I suggested we take a chance on at least one movie in HD. So we went to Best Buy halfway through the movie and picked it up, only to be pretty disappointed. Little did I know, at the time, that the PS3 (if set to 720p) was downconverting Blu-Rays to 480p.

I used to have to change my output to 1080i every time I popped a movie in (since I prefer my games in 720p), but luckily the system update came.

bought my player and tv the same day so extra broke i stumbled up to the local blockbuster and rented........hostel 2. not sure what i would think about the PQ now but being the first thing i saw in hidef i was blown away even though i was on vivid mode with no calibration.
