FDA lists a theatrical reissue for 5th June, although Captain Kronos was quite limited and it’s only up for booking at Genesis Cinema.

No interest in more boxes and trinkets

I'll wait for a standard edition or just stick with the Kino BD

Got my copy this afternoon from Atomic. I wanted to mention something that hasn't really come up - just how damn good their books are! Beautifully designed and chock full of interesting articles. The six pages devoted to explaining all the special features is such a good idea I don't know why others don't do it.

The reformatted House of Hammer comic is a fun and logical addition, just like the Kronos set.

This set is not cheap but its a beauty and worth it to me for the book alone!

I can definitely understand this sentiment, and I was close to making the same decision for their 'lesser' releases, The Four Sided Triangle and Shatter. But the quality of the limited edition of Captain Kronos just convinced me to get them all.

It's a beautiful design, very solid and high quality and filled with just about every extra ever produced for the film in English plus plenty of new ones. The physical extras are just the icing on the cake. I don't care much for reproductions of posters or lobby cards. I collect original vintage posters, so reproductions are useless to me. But the books with all the essays, marketing materials and contemporary writing and the reproduction of the comics are all excellent value to me.

Still Waiting for Hammer to ship me copies of The Quatermass Xperiment, Shatter and The Four Sided Triangle, but hopefully they will get around to it soon. I took a chance and ordered all three to get free shipping. I am curious how they will pack them, since Captain Kronos came in a special designed shipping box, and the same is apparently true for Quatermass.

I understand what you mean completely - however this is the market these days. I doubt very much if these films would be put on streaming platforms so its only a good thing that Hammer are putting these out on physical media with all bells and whistles releases.

These releases are pure class.
I just received the Quatermass set and the packaging was bomb-proof.

This is a tremendously impressive package. The book especially, contains a vast amount of material. I particularly liked the well-researched chapter “ Hammer House of Harmony” about the musical shorts. These shorts were previously unknown to me and the film included in the set “Eric Winston Roadshow” is excellent. I hope that future sets include more of these musical and other shorts.

Anyone else still waiting for this. I ordered 10 minutes after it went up for preorder, and still no movement.

I pre-ordered this on Amazon and got a scheduled delivery date of this coming Sunday which didn’t budge even when it was released and they started shipping with next day delivery.

So I cancelled the pre-order at 10pm last night, reordered it and got it the next day

It’s hardly worth preordering discs on Amazon these days.

Got mine (here in California) via Zavvi, $5 shipped boxed from the UK.

A really great set and I'm looking forward to II.
(Quatermass and the Pit is a favorite of mine, hope that's on it's way)

I got tired of waiting for mine to be dispatched from Hammer so ordered one from Amazon.

It's just arrived, but the case seems to be misaligned. The spine is not central and the text slightly overlaps the front. Will have to go back.

Sorry about that - my copy from Atomic is proper. Hopefully your replacement will be fine!

I would assume (and hope!) so.

I wasn't paying £60 for a movie not much longer than an hour.

I received my Quatermass set direct from Hammer on Saturday. I was surprised to see it turn up in a standard cardboard box rather than a Hammer stamped one.

Just a bit of brown paper sitting on top of the box set which wasn't really protecting it at all so it was rattling around in the cardboard box.

I checked the corners for damage and all seemed okay so removed the cellophane only to fine a spine slash. Not what I was expecting when ordering direct!

I've contacted Hammer in the hope they can replace the slip box rather than me returning the whole lot.

How odd. I just got mine direct and it came in a protective custom mailer.
I'm not too sure how smart it is to advertise what's inside however!

That’s what I was expecting mine to come in! Instead it was rattling around in a standard cardboard box.

Not only has the spine got a slash, it’s also printed off centre.

After a quick response from Hammer customer services and me sending them photos of the damage, packaging and packaging slip. They are now ghosting me.

I won’t be ordering direct again, I’ll just order from HMV where I can’t take anything damaged straight back to the store.
