Saw it last night in 3D 4DX. That was by far the worst use of 4DX I've ever experienced. You'd think half the movie being on a boat that you'd be swaying like you were in the water. But no, a minute or so here, a minute or so there. Plus other random herky-jerky movements that made no sense at all. Huge thumbs down to the 4DX version!

I saw this in 3D at Cinemark that last time it was released for the 1st time in 3D, and the 3D was good, medium layers throughout Jaws.
Jaws 3 3D is way stronger, having been filmed in 3D too.

Turbine would be great to offer Jaws 1 3D to blu ray 3D soon.

That 4DX seat swaying and rumble effect sounds disappointing. I wonder how much of it is them deciding they don't want anyone to get sick during the movie from motion sickness. It really should be like a ride in my opinion, and sway the seat as if it were on the ocean as you were hoping. That could've been cool for the time they were out at sea. Then when Jaws hits the boat, shake the seat suddenly and have water spray jet out at the face of the audience seats.

Jaws made 950,000 yesterday-pretty good for a movie that, according to the numbers.com has days in release 18,333!

I enjoyed the 4DX but agree it could have been more consistent in its movement implementations. There are several moments that your seat gets knocked and sprayed with water on shark hits.

Saw it this afternoon in 3d. In the cinema I was viewing, the projection was 'off'. Wide black bar to the left of screen and narrow black bar to the right. Not filling the screen...incorrect ratio? The 3d however was excellent I thought, great depth. My partner was expecting Bruce on her lap but no matter how many times I told her that the film wasn't shot in 3d...she didn't get it. The audio was a very mixed bag. Definitely not the original mono. When you've seen the film as many times as I have, you notice all the differences. Also the audio was...quiet. The original mono had more oomph than this track. How many mixes have there been now since the first dvd release? Good to see in 3d but could have been much better. Pretty packed screening too.

Did they finally go get a bigger boat the fourth time?

That's good they at least had some water. Thanks.

Agreed, they should've pushed this more with the 3D. The 3D was medium 3D layering throughout, which is average but should've been pushed into strong 3D for a more dramatic effect. The 3D conversion studio doesn't get paid as much with milder 3D than if they had to convert it into strong 3D, which requires a lot more filling in of the offset gaps between the two angles/views.

I saw it at the weekend, Saturday night, classic film, only theatre for 30 miles....

20 people across 300 seats.
2 of those walked out after 30 mins.
Heretics.

Did you know Universal Studios Orlando used to have a Jaws boat ride? That's one attraction they should not have replaced, given how much people still enjoy the movie 50 years later.

Last Ride Ever on Jaws at Universal Studios Orlando For TPR - YouTube
That was good they had a fun boat ride back then.
I think what probably happens is attendance for older rides diminishes, and less people go on it and choose newer rides instead. Some older rides are better though, so they need to think about it carefully at least before dumping a classic ride.

What great time we had watching this on the big screen. Even though you know everything we were still jumping out of our seats..lol. Sound was fantastic for a non surround type film and dialogue was crystal clear..I heard lines of dialogue I don't think I ever heard before or ever noticed..it was that clear. Picture looked fantastic too. So highly recommended even if you have seen Jaws a hundred times before.

I've seen Jaws dozens upon dozens of times over the last 40 years or so but seeing it in IMAX this weekend was the first time I ever noticed that the
[Show spoiler]scuba tank that kills the shark also kills Quint.

Another observation from seeing in IMAX.

It's never been more obvious that the Tiger shark that is caught and displayed near the beginning has clearly been dead for several days, maybe a week. It's got fur on it!

There wasn't a poster, postcard or pencil on sale here in the UK. Never mind popcorn buckets.

Poundland (the UK's Dollar General) was selling shopping bags. I only bought six of them.
