How do you think Brits feel when we see a John Wayne film then.

Yes! I just got a shipping notice for Asylum from Severin as well. So far just a shipping label with a tracking number. So it should be in the mail soon. Pretty good since the official street date isn’t until October.

Just got this in and I am quite pleased with what I am seeing. Because of the frequent use of diffusion in the cinematography, along with the fairly drab settings and art direction, this is never going to be called a "beautiful" film, but Severin's new 4K restoration is the best it has ever looked to these eyes, and I have seen ASYLUM countless times over the years. The transfer is as sharp as the film stock and lighting will allow and print defects are kept to a bare minimum; in addition, grain is well resolved and the encode is solid. Buy with confidence!

Agreed! My order arrived today, and this was the first disc I watched. The HDR (I watched in Dolby Vision) was a huge standout for me, loved the highlights in lighting fixtures and the candles Peter Cushing's character holds during one scene in the second segment. The contrast from the dark basement in the first segment when the husband opens the door and stands at the top of the stairs silhouetted in the light was quite impressive. Colors looked great. I found myself noticing wallpaper designs and other furnishings from the era with the boost in detail.

Very happy with it.

One of the things I used to enjoy most about Amicus films in the theater
was their pastel color pallets. Pastel colors in the wardrobe and in the
sets. Then they'd light it in horror fashion. I hope the 4K UHD recovers
this aesthetic.
