If The Invisible Man was too visible, the movie's advertising campaigns would have been denounced as false advertising.

That's what made it a great horror film, and an important precursor to the 1979 film "Alien".

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

jk...but I'm always amused when I watch this with someone who's never seen it and they're so surprised at how little Clint is actually in it and that Tuco is the main character..

To quote the AI overlords: "In Mad Max: Fury Road, Max Rockatansky (played by Tom Hardy) has 44 minutes and 38 seconds of screen time, which is 37.10% of the film's total runtime"

Those stats though are only when he's actually directly onscreen I guess and the style of Fury Road with its tendency towards a lot of closeups means characters aren't going to get "screen time" as much in wider shots.

The fact its been measured so exactly I think tells you its a subject driven by cultural war types who've bothered to count it. Something I always felt was a bit ironic as Fury Road is IMHO actually a response to that environment before it even became mainstream. Its not just righteous liberial feminist saves the day, ultimately her plan of escape to a matriarchal paradise is shown to be a fantasy and instead sucess comes when she works with Max and even Nux to take out the real enemy in their exploitive warlord aristocracy.

Ummm… okay. Just struck me as odd, the one time I saw it in theaters. As soon as I saw the title of this thread, it popped into my head. Had no idea it would cause any controversy.

I don't know why everyone got so up in arms over Furiosa. They literally said they were making that movie in like 2015. And then it comes out and the usual suspects come out screaming about a Mad Max movie without Mad Max in it like George Miller was pulling some kind of bait and switch. Even though it was announced almost a decade prior and everyone seemed cool with the concept back then. I thought it was really good. Maybe not quite as electrifying as Fury Road but definitely worth owning..

The real Bandit is in it for about 2 mins, even the TV edit has him in it for longer.
TV edits of movies often have extra footage not shown in theaters or even on home video.
