I agree completely. The only time we need to reference it is in pointing out the undending FUD techniques that were used by certain folks in the Red camp to undermine the benefits of Blu-ray .. and how those same techniques are being used by the download FUDsters now that HD DVD failed. Same shills in the media etc.

It serves a very useful purpose from that perspective to talk about HD DVD .. otherwise I don't care to talk about a dead format that only ever existed for the single purpose of FUD.

However, be aware that with Blu-Ray's winning the format war, there are going to be a lot more people like me, coming onto the forum for the same reason I did. They don't care about the format war, they just want to watch beautiful movies on their big new TV set.

Now, the sore winner and gloating type posts are one thing. They are annoying but can somewhat be avoided.....kind of.

But there are some people here who are doing nothing more than looking for an argument. They see "trolls" around every corner. Please be aware that not everyone who comes on here and mentions HD-DVD in anything other than a derogatory manner is a troll. You're going to have a lot of HD-DVD converts or people that bought both formats, and this type of stuff is going to turn them off just as it has with me.

I hope that the forum can improve to the point where the focus becomes the watching and enjoying of movies rather than gloating and hunting down of potential "trolls". If it does I will come back and participate gladly.

I wish you all well but this has gotten out of control, and it seems that my presence here antagonizes certain members to the point where it has no longer become fun for me anymore. So I will attempt to bow out with some manner of dignity. I figure that's better than continuing to litter the forums with arguments and eventually getting banned.

Like I said I wish you all well (most of you anyway). Peace.
Um... This is an internet community. We'll talk about what we want to talk about. Whether that be Blu-ray, HD-DVD, the NES, VHS, or cute little cuddley kittens dancing, were gonna talk about it unless its pure spam. I highly dought that everyone over on the HD-DVD forums where you obviously came from taled about ONLY HD-DVD. Im sure they talked about other things as well... Probably about how many hours they spend on halo every week, or how terrible their life is... i dont know, i wasnt there.

Who are you anyway? I havent seen you around at all... Not that your coming back anyway. Although im sure you'll show up next week with a different name. You cant leave Blu-ray.com. Its just too awsome.

Chill out, and come back if you'd like...

Actually... to have left this forum with dignity would have been to not attempt pouring your heart out as a final attempt to get thousands of apologies. Especially when we sure as sh!t know that you are still reading these replies... and, technically... that does not classify as "having left the Blu-ray.com forum."
