I couldn't agree more.
I'm hoping to get these watched this weekend.

the shining (own it, sealed)
citizen cane (same)
silenceof the lambs (same)
death to smoochie
there will be blood
2001 (own it, same as above)
the deer hunter (saw about half)

this list is based on stuff I want to see that I haven't. it's funny how much I've built up watching some of these and I realize I might really not enjoy it. happened with Unforgiven which I thought was a great western but not really a great film in and of itself... also apocalypse now where I really didn't like the ending all that much, although as I've thought about it I like it more and more.

Do yourself a favor and watch this show. I would recommend watching it from season 1 though as you might get lost if you start too late in the series. This was the best show on TV period.

I'll add one to my list though....I have never seen Lost. By the time I wanted to watch it it was too late. I am waiting for the 1st season to be released on Blu-ray before getting into it though.

actually i am a huge movie fan. Haven't watched LOTR because it's not really appealing to me, goodfellas i will real soon as i'm waiting for the blu ray to come in. Indiana jones... i have no real excuse other than when i watch it i want to watch all of them back to back. probably sooner than later since the 4th is coming out. And gladiator . not sure why actually. I do like weird obscure shit but meet the feelbes is not one i know!

After seeing blu ray though, i'm not sure i can go back. i've been spoiled.

Only one that comes to mind is:

Gone with the Wind...

I've owned the DVD for years now and never popped it in.
Oh... and for all those that haven't seen, Star Wars/Indiana Jones/Lord of the Rings/Matrix/etc...etc.... um... no offense, but what the !$#@# movies have you been watching? lol

I think some people don't watch these movies because they make up their mind before seeing it that they won't like it, and so they don't give it a chance; then as the movies get as big as they are it becomes a stubborn point with them.

On that note, I've never seen any Woody Allen film. But I'm sure I will eventually.

Don't do Drama, Gang flicks, Chick Flicks, Gladiator movies, Suspense/Horror.

I watch Comedy, Animation(some/most), Action, Fantasy, SciFi.

I don't watch movies just to watch movies.
I try to watch the movies I want to watch.
I make up my own mind of what appeals to me.

Once, I went with the crowd and watched(bought) a movie that was touted as "A Great Movie" - IT SUCKED!
Y'all can probably guess what movie that was.

Jurassic Park
300 - I've had the Blu since Christmas, but just haven't gotten around to watching it.
Lord of the Rings - doesn't look like my cup of tea, and I don't want to spend 3+ hours confirming it.

I have never seen:
Godfather 3 - cannot bring myself to watch a movie that could hurt my opinion of two of the greatest.
Citizen Kane - No excuse really.
Lawrence of Arabia - Seriously Like 4 hours. That is a project.
24 - I keep bumping it down my BB queue because it is a huge undertaking
This list could really go on and on. I have watched a ton of movies but you can never see em all.
