Default I'm Avoiding Fox for now

With the last few releases it obvious whats going on. Yeah sure they have great PQ and SQ but they're purposely holding back the extras, even the best one so far (I, Robot) has only half the extras of the DVD release. Disney and other studios seem to be better at this front. But Fox will no doubt re-release these films a year or two down the line with 2-disc special editions. They did with DVD and ther're doing it again on BD, i got burned last time. Fool me once and all that...

My choice, i don't feel i'm missing out because i got the nice 2-disc special edition DVD's until they sort there act out

shrug, your choice of course. For me I would only double dip if the transfer or audio was enhanced. Extras I could give a rats a$$ about.

i especially hate in-film extras, like pop-up facts.

All i care about is for PQ and SQ for this reason i already planning to buy I-Robot after Live free or die hard, Kingdom of Heaven, Fantastic Four rise of the silver and X-Men last stand.

Maybe Hitman (I need this movie badly) is on my hit list after this review:

Speaking of Extras i wished some of those came with a half decent interactive game. As of now extras blow bubbles.

I agree.. extras don't really mean diddly to me. PQ and SQ of the main film is what I care about.

Add me to the don't-care-about-extras club. I also don't care which studio a movie I like is from. I just want to watch movies.

To echo the others, don't really care about the extras. Just want the PQ/AQ to be as good as possible.

But, I do know where you're coming from. I have at least one friend that seems to get more excited about the extras than the actual movie. So, I do see firsthand that some people do care about them. Of course, we always hate when movie night is at their house since he'll go through every single thing on the disc after the movie but that's another story.

On a slightly different note, checking out some of the extras in the last couple of months to try out new features, etc. I was really surprised at how enthusiastic the directors are about the movie & extras when discussing it. It almost made me feel bad that I hadn't been checking the extras out. Even worse, wondering how they take all the critical comments from film-buffs and movie critics (reviewers). They seem so excited about the features and the movie so you can easily tell they really love their work and what they've accomplished.

That's the same way I feel.
Main feature PQ and SQ is all I care about.

I am definitely not avoiding Fox.

Most people knock extras on this forum and at the same time, they have the worst taste in movies.

I agree with you but take for example Fox Independence Day. Where's the extended cut??? I'm like you, i don't care about the extras but I do care about unrated or extended cuts which are usually better than the theatrical cut. Fox is no doubt holding out so they can double dip us down the road.......That really makes me mad
