I've been on the GAP for 5 years now.

What is the Retail Loyalty Site, I have never heard of this, is it SCEA related? By the way how were you able to get on the GAP?

it would be nice to make my own folders so i can group movies, music and games the way i want. be nice to be able to go more than 2 folders deep as well. auto off on the controller is a must. auto power off after all downloads are complete is a must.
Good call on the auto shut off for the controllers, The DS3 may have this, I haven't checked, but I noticed that the DS3 has a different XMB battery indicator (it says it's charging and says when charge is complete, the Sixaxis does not show this in the XMB).

Didn't realize Dolby True HD was supported already, Firmware updates can get the HDMI up to 1.3 (the HDMI cable structure doesn't change each .xx revision) since as of 4/9/08 there are articles still saying that the PS3 is the only future proof BD player on the market still (and will be for a while). Technically 3.0 doesn't exist but I'm referring to HDD use and Java programs (i.e. Java based BD games that aren't out till Fall 08') on BD's, Digital transfer and the ability to get cellphone ring tones off a Blu-ray disc are potential profile 3.0 candidates.

Ah, I see it's like Microsoft's retail training site where they give you discounts on MS products (The $100 wireless 360 adapter is only $45 from MS's training site). Here's the url if you apply: http://www.microsoft.com/expertzone

the HDMI is 1.3 already, it would need to be 1.3a! Dont you hate how technology always updates?
as far as GAP and Retail Loyalty Site(RLS) GAP is invite only, I got a letter in the mail 5 years ago offering me this free membership... so I took it! I was not really active on it very much till PS3 though.... RLS is for people that work electronics retail and is also free! It is really cool and has learning modules modules on EVERYTHING Playstation! You take the learning modules and are awarded points to get free games(SCEA published usually) and accessories like shirts, hats, watches, etc. But free games is awesome. Sitting on the computer for like 2 hours can net you two free PS3 games, but people snag fast when they become available, so I check everyday! Hope it was informative.

You can sort of do grouping already. Just hit the triangle button on a video or game file, go to Information and then edit the Album information. Then tell the PS3 to Group by Album and you content will now appear in folders. Sorry, it can't go any deeper than this but do you really have that many videos and games that you need multiple levels?

It would be nice if videos and games had a Genre tag, but maybe in the future. It would also be nice to be able to do reverse sorts. My big frustration (with media management at least) is that you can't sort games by name; what's up with that?

On the Sixaxis, the controller stops flashing when it's done charging (same in the XMB, if you are using that particular controller).

Japan will be getting the new PS-Store update on April 15th, which also seems the worldwide release date. Looks like we're getting it 2 days earlier
