I saw at the Sony Style store they have those LED TVs which they have around 11". It cost around $2500 now. Unfortunately, resolution is 960x540.

My mother just asked about a portable Blu player the other day. She thought they were already out.

Parson, thanks for showing us that chart again. As I have said before, anything above 1280 x 720p on a portable screen is completely wasted. Even most of 720p becomes wasted on portable screens because they tend to be 10" or smaller.

At best, current portable DVD's play 720 x 480. At those screen sizes the picture already appears pretty sharp. There would hardly be any discernable difference if a portable blu-ray player only had a 800 x 600 screen. Probably be significantly cheaper as well.

As long as the output via HDMI still supports 1080p and surround sound, I don't see much of a problem.

SNIP!

First of all, the LCD display only has WSVGA or 1024×600 resolution. I know you can argue that cramming a resolution of 1920×1080 into an 8.9-inch display is kind of pointless, but I still want it.
Even better than the 800x600 I mentioned. Had I remembered the 16x9 ratio I would have said the same. I have a friend who works for Panasonic. I'm sure he can eventually get me a player. Sorry, guys. No group buys. I'm e-mailing him today!
