You may think they wasted their time, but by releasing XXX they were going after the action crowd, Scooby Doo Family\Kids, The Marine WWE\Action fans, Jane Austin Book Club "older" women? Not sure about Suburban Girl though..I can't see which market they are trying to target with almost every release..

The more diversity the better, I dont knock a studio for releasing a certain movie if I dont like it, you would hope the studios are trying to be diverse in their release. The more new customers we can bring on the better for the format overall....

Would I mind if these were brought to Blu-ray? no not at all, I jsut dont think the studios see many of them as viable unless they can "cross over". I believe the 3 I listed are the most likely though to be released sooner rather than later as they have the "broadest appeal"...

Way to bring up something more than a month old......

If you read the post I was replying to then maybe it would make sense to you (Since the person I was replying to listed movies they thought were bad, but were still released on Blu-ray)...The point I was making that the studios ARE releasing a wide variety of films (which is good) and that while many have a targeted audience, they also have a better chance of being picked up by more than just the target audience.....Everyone though has thier own opinion though and I dont knock anyone for theirs....

Menace II Society, while I may like the film has a VERY narrow base, and most likely ONLY the target base will pick it up....

Boyz N' the Hood however while targeted towards an "urban" base (like M2S), has a better chance of being picked up by more people then the target audience...

Belly itself is a definite target of Hip Hop\Urban crowd, but since it is also done in a "flashy" over the top style, it may also be picked up by a wider audience because of the "eye candy" that it has...
