The 48Hz flicker is the same flicker you'll notice in the cinema when watching film, which is typically 48Hz (double shutter) as well. It's slow enough that your eye can see the frames - it's simply the frames you're seeing.
If you don't like the look of film, you might not like the 48Hz; it's just peculiar how many "experts" haven't explained or caught this. Quote:

After alot of thought I decided to get the 50" instead of the 58".I will fit perfectly in my spot where my current 50" Panny LCD sits. The 58" would have been nice butthe local store who has one wanted to sale me the floor model.I think the 50" will suit me fine.I can't wait to see how it does in the 24p mode running through my BD30 and new Panny SA-BX500 receiver.

Thanks for all the comments.I can't wait to be the first one to see how this badboy performs when using my BD30 and new Panasonic SA-BX500 AVR.I know that many of you think it does'nt matter what equipment you have as a source but I have always believed that matched components offer max pic quality. After all I don't think Panasonic was using a PS3 when checking how blu-ray performs on this set.I am not saying that you won't get a great pic using another brand player, but maybe this "flicker" thing at 24p won't be that much of an issue if any...I will keep you all posted.

I have a PS3 hooked up to this TV looks fabulous. I leave mine on the THX setting for everything looks great.

That's what I am going to do.I know that lots of people on here are hardcore about "tweaking" but I trust THX to be close to reference quality. After all even using a calibration disc or having someone come to your house does'nt mean 100% perfect.
