CHRISTINA HENDRICKS.

Reason enough, or shall I say "reasonS" enough, to watch and see the show and this lovely Redhead Bombshell in BD

That, and oh yea, the show is really good as well. I've seen a few episodes but def. would like to find time to see more (2 jobs, not a lot of time!)

"A drama about one of New York's most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, focusing on one of the firm's most mysterious but extremely talented ad executives, Donald Draper."

Donald also has a gorgeous wife and cute daughter. I like the redhead but enjoyed her more in Firefly.

It's a blind buy that no one would regret getting.

Default Is Mad Men: Season One worth a blind buy?

I was thinking of picking this up. I want to get into the show and season 1 would be the best place to start.

Is it worth a blind buy?

I think it's brilliant. If you like the period dramas you'll love it =].

Mad Men is one of the best shows on television next to 24, Smallville, and Bones IMO. Lionsgate delivers a top notch Blu - ray quality to this show. So, the answer is definitely.

Really depends on what type of shows you like. Certainly isn't like the Sopranos where the mob-lifestyle is sure to draw audiences.

I bought the Blu-ray because I must've had around 5 friends who saw it via torrent download totally raving about it.

Upon watching the first episode, I found it a little bit slow and uninvolving. But it was after around the 3rd episode where the background of all the characters and the era of which the show is set in start drawing me in. It's very mature & smartly written (as in not all intentions are spoken, but acted on).

Do it.

I did a blind buy with this one myself,
and I love it.

Not to mention the overall A/V quality is outstanding!

I can't agree more with everyone else here. I blind bought the set myself a few weeks back, and now I can't stop recommending the show to everyone I talk to. It's a definite addition to anyone's collection! Can't wait for season 2 on Blu!

Definetly worth a blind buy IMO. It can seem a little slow moving, but it's written and acted extremely well.

Lionsgate's presentation is aces, too. I love the checkboxes on the menu that fill when you've already watched an episode. Helps you keep track when you've spent a while between eps and forgot where you left off.

The PQ is tremendous, and it hasn't been mentioned by anyone on this thread but every episode has commentary.

Absolutely, but you have to watch at least the first three episodes before you really get into the groove.
