With the economies around the world tanking like they currently are I can not possibly seeing them be so silly as to try and do a subscription based system for this game.

It's going to need a lot more value for the dollar to even manage to get 256 players on a map at once at this point.

Aw man! Is this FPS - I thought it was going to be third person.

Frak! We have enough FPS - why no love for us TPS users?

There were rumors that this game was going to have a monthly fee. IMO that would ruin it. I'm not part of the mmo crowd, I buy a game to play it, not to pay more.

That would be really bad

I do not think Sony would let them do that though. Nothing else Sony does comes with a charge (as far as on line gaming is concerned)

I hope not, i wouldnt care if they make the price like $80 and say that extra money is paying for unlimited online use

Even that would deter me... I think they can charge for all the DLC (as they no doubt will) and leave the online stuff free.

Game looks like it could be good though.

I thought it was 3-rd person too. But the graphics look amazing for the amount of content going on thats for sure!

i did 2 at first, but it dosent really bother me, and they may even have an option like some other games to select if you want 1st or 3rd person like the Hitman games

Earlier this week John Koller, the hardware marketing boss of SCEA claimed that Mag will be “something that's only possible on PS3” and that “it's basically like an iteration of SOCOM, where you're maybe commanding the SEALs, and someone else has the Rangers and the Green Berets , and so on.”

This led to some pretty sketchy news, and some sites even began reporting that MAG was going to be a sequel to SOCOM, or a new installment to the series.

Well, for those of you who were scared away by this news, come the heck back! Cindy Bowens, community manager of SCEA was quoted today in saying “I just wanted to give you a heads up in response to the quote about MAG being an 'iteration of SOCOM.' I wanted to clarify that this is a misstatement. MAG is a brand new IP and is unrelated to SOCOM. It is not a sequel, nor built upon SOCOM. It will be a brand new experience
