Red Sonja has it's dedicated fans in comic book form, but there's probably a very small audience for a movie now.

The Marvel team-ups in the 70s and 80s with Conan are impossible now, as Conan has been a separate property from Red Sonja for a while now. Not to be confused with Robert E Howard's Red Sonya set in medieval times. Red Sonja is only in the Hyborian Age because of Marvel and Roy Thomas. So it can't really piggyback off the more popular property any more.

I just rewatched that not too long ago and I actually enjoyed it. I definitely think it's better than the cheese-tastic Arnold versions.

No surprise it was put on the back burner. Despite the success of Bohemian Rhapsody (which is even fair to question how much belongs to him) there is a real chance Bryan Singer will never direct again and he brought it on himself.

If this ever gets made, they could do much worse than Gina Carano. Although, if they're looking for a convincing actress, if only Tessa Thompson was a couple of inches taller...

Ugh... I was interested in rose doing it, at least she's got some bust, but singer doing this, no thanks. I'm sure it'll be pg13 or something anyway. While the original was tame and cheesey it's not the 80s anymore.

they only did like 2 weeks of shooting or something for BoRhap with Fletcher, the movie is littered with Singer's signature camerawork. Quite frankly, the only redeeming thing about the movie.
They're praising that movie for all the wrong reasons (shitty actor and best picture praises). This is why I don't get excited for movies anymore.
