There is an embargo on the reviews.

In fact, Ain't It Cool News posted an explanation on why the reviews were pulled.

They said there is an embargo. I'm not surprised.

Thanks for the link. Looks like you just answered your own question. It's WB policy.

Part of it I imagine is to avoid spoilers all over the net as well. I personally don't see it as a big deal.

And as to why they are releasing the movie in August, I imagine there are 3 reasons:

1. Each weekend can only hold so many movies, and this summer has been pretty full. August gave people a chance to see Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda, the other 2 big family movies
2. I imagine that the movie wasn't planned from the beginning, and by the time they fully decided to release it to theatres, the good weekends had been taken
3. August will be closer to when the show premieres on TV - which I'm guessing is sometime this fall but I'm not sure

Oh - and yes - my worry about the Blu is that it will get the Speed Racer treatment - especially since it might just be seen as a Family movie and kids won't care about lossless.

Pixar takes 4 years to do a movie from pre prod to final output. This is for less than 2 hours... now imagine a 396min shows.. would take 10 years .. and in 10 years that level of cgi would be laughtable

The animated series was hand-drawn limited-animation crap without a compelling story, this is CGI limited-animation crap without a compelling story.

Nonsense -- the character animation in the original TOY STORY is over 10 years old, but it is light years ahead of the CLONE WARS. Why? Because the emphasis in the CLONE WARS is on outrageous action, not on character, while TOY STORY depended on character interaction for the story. The animation doesn't suck in the CLONE WARS because of the amount of animation needed -- the animation sucks because real animation is expensive, and the producers figure they can just blow crap up for thirty minutes a week and keep you interested.

Why? They can fart out cut scenes for Battlefront III and call it "The Clone Wars" and people will buy it. Why spend more money than you need to? Those folks at Square have a reputation to maintain, why hire them to make the equivalent of a direct-to-video Disney cheapquel?

i guess people don't understand the fact that when you have a animated t.v. show, you have a deadline within weeks, not years like a Pixar movie...duh
