Heathers is a movie that could have only be made in the late 1980s. And it was done very well. No need for a remake at all.

Ha ha. Sorry, I'm not part of the cult who grew up with it. I saw it for the first time and while I can appreciate the quirkiness of the 80's I have been watching alot of darker things recently and I would just love to see this same story replayed even darker. So don't "re-make" it just tell a similar story in today's darker colors....kids in high school, start killing and leaving suicide notes...etc..etc...make the message about social interactions and "whats wrong with today's youth" more applicable to today. I'm sure in the 80's the message hit home with that society but its been 25 years. One thing that bugged me is that we viewers today know that it would take alot more than "notes" to throw the police off. If it was re-done today they would at least be smarter about how they "got away with it".

Again - I know I'm upsetting people who spent the last 25 years with this. I'd feel the same if someone said "hey I just saw Star Wars and someone should re-make that". My thought was that there are a lot of people today (especially kids) who haven't seen this - they could make it again and it would be a huge hit.

If you're gonna hate me for saying re-make...at least know I was mostly saying "I LOVED this film". Enough to see it again in today's context. BTW I'm not saying wipe the orginal off the face of the earth and start over. Do it justice and "revive" it in today's context. Keep the orginal too - but honor it by keeping it going. Would it be more appropriate to say "let's see a sequel?" Maybe placing Wynona as the mom and the story is about her kids?

Yeah, I don't know if Heathers could be made today after the school shootings that have taken place in real life. It has kids shooting their classmates and one character brings a bomb to school.

No way in hell could this be remade today. School shootings in a comedic way? Never.

Yup and Mean Girls was better. I thought Heathers was a bit silly, IMHO.

I used to love watching Heathers back in the day, and I've been meaning to get the Blu-ray for a while now.

I've never owned Heathers on HD but I'll hold off on it since it's an Arrow candidate. I'm sure it'll receive the royal treatment when it comes up - it'll be worth the wait.

I figured something like this was on the horizon. I wonder if Arrow U.S. will get a piece of the action.

I'm fully expecting Arrow US to pick it up as well. They've picked up pretty much every other top Lakeshore title to date, including the (rumored) House films. I guess nothing is off the table anymore (hopefully)

Holy telecine wobble.

I must have watched this disc over a dozen times on my old 42" plasma, never noticed this telecine wobble until watching it for the first time on my new projector with a 120" screen.

I had to turn it off after 5 minutes as it was giving me a headache.

Image on this disc has always been mediocre before I discovered this issue. Another reason this badly needs a remaster.

The 30th anniversary is next year (2018). I wonder if we'll get a new release? (hopefully a new 2K or 4K transfer)
